What's next for her?

I think in ten to fifteen years, she could play Mrs. Johnstone in Blood Brothers.

I LITERALLY had the same thought last week. She'd be an amazing Mrs. Johnstone.

She needs a series of original roles that will showcase all of her facets. She can do funny, she can spaz it up, she can breakdown, she can do it all. The world needs to know this.

Oh and she needs to play Glinda in the Wicked film version and get into more films. Plus more concerts to really cement her as a future theatre legend which I think she has the potential to be.

She will be the voice the China Doll Princess in the upcoming animated film, 'Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return'. The movie is set for release in early 2014.

I want her to reprise Marilyn on Broadway. I'd also like to see her Evita.

And Gothampc, as I've previously mentioned she played the role of Lucinda, one of Cinderella's Stepsisters, in the reading of the screenplay for the 'Into the Woods' film adaptation. It'd be nice if Disney let her be in the film.

Would Evita be too harsh on her voice 6-7 times a week? I know she can sing the highs but it seems like her voice gets tired alot. I'd love to hear her sing the score.

She is beyond that now

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I'd like to see her play Rachel in Craig Lucas' "Reckless"

Probably Mallory in "City of Angels" is too small a part. Maybe by the time the revival comes around she'll be old enough to play Alaura.

Sorry B/way star--LB was one of the worst, most 'tuneless' nights I have spent in a theatre-even Ms Hilty couldn't make it enjoyable[perhaps].

Sweet Lips is not alone in his thoughts on LB. It was a flop on B'way.

(Personally, while I recognize it's flaws, I actually had a blast seeing it.)

Whatever you may think of Brantley (not much, for me), the Times still wields clout. And Brantley is solid Team Hilty. He wrote that the Encores! GPB delivered:

"a succession of showstoppers that climaxed with a knockout rendition of “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” that immortal anthem to nonliquid assets. The number was sung by Megan Hilty, who gave the gold-digging Lorelei Lee character an original comic audacity that erased memories of Ms. Hilty’s most famous predecessors in that role, Carol Channing and Marilyn Monroe. It felt like one of those single, golden nights, so cherished by theatergoers, that thrust its leading lady into the firmament of musical stardom. ...We whooped, we roared, we beat our hands raw with clapping."

Sweet Lips... I couldn't agree with you more. I never want to see anyone in Legally Bland the musical--not even Megan Hilty whom I love!!!!Legally Bland one of the worst musicals ever. I like the film/ The musical missed the whole point of the film. Laura Bell Bundy was atrocious. What has she done since?

"Give her a shot as Miss Adelaide in the upcoming feature remake of GUYS AND DOLLS."

I think Megan is a bit too "all there" for Adelaide. The character of Adelaide needs a bit of dingbat to her. I would find it hard that Megan wouldn't be able to figure out "See note. See note??" in Adelaide's Lament.

She'd be a GREAT Adelaide! Maybe someone will write the next great American musical for her. Maybe someone will cast her in the revival of "On The Twentieth Century." Maybe she'll do concerts. Whatever she does, I hope it is big! She is an amazing talent, and having seen her in "Wicked" in 2008 and on "Smash" only cemented that.
