1) Yes. But that's not what you said...

2) I see reality, you see fantasy.

Liza's Headband, I see where you are coming from. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

RW3 I'm not a 'fan' of Woody Allen films but did find his very early ones very funny.I didn't enjoy my first viewing of Bullets esp.the maniacal performance of the young man-very Gene Wilder, but when I knew it was to be made into a musical,I visited it again and saw the enormous possibilities for songs. The musical numbers already in the film are wonderful-the nightclub scenes are very camp and the costumes gorgeous.Just hope Zac tones it down a bit and Ms Marin just as eccenctric[?].So=rent the DVD and learn about the show--I am sure you will enjoy certainly parts of it.

I hope he uses the songs better than he did in Everyone Says I Love You...

I agree that the costumes look generic "retro Hollywood" (or even more specifically 40s-50s) which seems disappointing compared to the film's costumes which seemed much more 1920s (if suitably over the top.)

Please, please let Woody Allen be the person who figures out how to corral Brooks Ashmanskas.

He's such an immensely talented performer, but with the wrong creative team, has a tendency to just pull focus and chew scenery. I think he's a Tony winner in the right role, and with the right team.

Of course, Allen's not directing, but his presence will no doubt be influential. And his comedic taste is very exacting.

Im sensing and hoping this is just a way to introduce the cast in a glamourous, eye catching way. I love the original characterizations and costuming. I trust the creative team but would hate to see Helen morphed into a glamour goddess. Also, even Olive is a little bit of a hot mess and not totally well put together.

Although Woody Allen is not directing this show, he is such a stickler for authentic details in his period movies (Bullets, Radio Days), and Santo Loquasto is the set designer for Bullets, and he was the art director on the film. I can't imagine William Ivy Long would be so "vague" with the period and the characters.

I agree, Betty. I think EW was wrong when they said these were Ivy-Long's costumes from the show.

Still, they're great PR photos of the cast ... I just wish that was clarified in the article (or at least not misrepresented).

It's unlikely those are the costumes from the production this far out.

Why do all of these photos always look photo-shopped. Look at the white glow between Marian's body and dress. It does not look real. I'm a wrong?

OK-I'll weigh into this again--I'll admit the 3 ladies look glamorous for a photo shoot-but not at all original--one is in a cream nightie, the obvious red clingy thingy with fox fur wrap that the vamp always seems to wear and the black number-with a black wig-would be perfect in The Adams Family.A photo shoot perhaps and wanting to keep the costumes a surprise, but even a hint from the Art Deco[?] period would be a nice tease.

It definitely looks like those cast photos Vanity Fair regularly does.

I assume it looks photoshopped because it is. It's probably one large photo using individual composites of each actor. They do that to have more control over touch ups in editing. Not always the case, but it's pretty standard.

'I've Found a New Baby' was the best part of the preview. I wasn't too excited about this, but that looked great!

EDIT: I'm referring to the video BWW just posted, but the photos look great too!

This preview was very promising. Mazzie seems fantastic and Betsy Wolfe is just a true star and I'm excited to see her in this.

Agree I thought Wolfe and Braff were amazing and the song a great choice, it played as if written for the show. The other two bits had me very concerned - I almost clicked to another article writing the whole thing off. But it would be nice to see Stroman back to the creativity she showed in Crazy For You and this material lends itself to her sweet spot.

I am shocked Betsy does not have a Tony or a nomination truly amazing and FTR Zach sounds great too as does the rest of the cast

Looks like this one is going to be full of memorable performances.

And I love how Stroman choreographs for characters, not just strings together a bunch of pleasing steps. She really captures the traits of Warner and Olive in her Let's Misbehave staging.

Bravo, Susan! Great stuff.

Looks great! Helene's pretty similar to Jennifer Tilly in terms of voice. Not a bad thing but I'm surprised is all.
