First time they aired footage they didn't air previously...

They will air stuff that gets viewers. Considering the Hamilton cast recording is still in the top 10 on Billboard, there are clearly new fans finding the show all the time who will want to watch the segment.

I seriously believe that a lot of posters on here are 10 year old kids.

We have a winner.

How much new footage are they really showing though?
It could be a millisecond, but it is still going to attract an audience.

I have confidence in you that you'll be able to find alternate entertainment during a portion of a one-hour block on a Sunday evening, if you feel so strongly.
I believe there is a certain high-profile event happening on Fox during that time on Sunday.
It's also the Super Bowl on Sunday night, so that is probably the biggest reason CBS decided to do this.
Good for CBS. What's the harm? I'm not understand the panic in the posting.
There are lots of choices of what to watch on Sunday - let alone everyday during the week. If you don't want to watch it, then don't and watch something else.
I don't think the OP was expressing disgust at being forced to watch it. Just pointing out something kind of outrageous.
That's a very low bar for outrageous.
Airing one segment 4 times seems a little excessive to me but I guess that's my own opinion.

CBS execs: "Let's just put something on for the gays. They won't watch the Super Bowl. How about Hamilton again?" ""But it's the fourth time. There will be an uprising!" "Oh, it shouldn't bother anyone"
