Yes, casting call went up last week. Bronx Tale goes non-equity in the fall. Equity company closes 8/4 in Kansas City, and rehearsals for the new company start 8/12.

I might also throw in Hershey, Sacramento, and alsothe Starlight Theatre in Kansas City (late summer 2020)."

I'm from Ithaca and Syracuse is just over an hour away. If CFA comes there during a time that I'm home from school I might actually die and go to heaven. I have yet to see it on Broadway which is my number 1 goal (saw it in Toronto last summer) but hey, if it really does come that close to me, I'll take it.

Would that make them feral Cats? (Sorry, I’ve been on work travel for last 2 weeks - I’m now home for 9 days, hallelujah -  and I’m a bit jet lagged so I’m blaming that on my “groaner” humor).

No, Cats is staying equity next season, on a lower tier SETA, playing mostly still full and multi-week engagements, with about 8 weeks of 2-market split weeks.

It probably depends on how you define major. If you're referring to a new touring show joining the season lineup, it's possible (i.e. Mockingbird), but not likely. If you're referring to the remaining venues, it's a bit trickier this season as several mid-major markets are including new, never-toured-before productions (e.g. SpongeBob & Bandstand). Their inclusion among the major markets blurs the lines a bit on how to define whether a market is major/mid-major/minor. If you're referring to the major markets that have announcements left, there's Madison, Nashville, National Theatre, the Starlight in KC, East Lansing, and Sacramento. In addition, there are the last four BAA venues outside of Madison (Albuquerque, Boise, Jacksonville, Fresno), Lexington, New Haven, Syracuse, Akron, Hershey, Chattanooga/Knoxville and Spokane. Also, Greensboro is announcing their 20/21 inaugural season, which is a major announcement. While we're not 1/3 of the way through announcement season, we're moving into phase 2, which will dovetail with phases 1 and 3. These are made up of mid-major markets like some of the ones listed above. Hope that helps!

Hi all! I'm starting to prep for the 20/21 season and am gearing up to create new spreadsheets. I would love your feedback for the current ones so I'll know how to adjust or modify things for next season. I created this survey that only should only take about 5-10 minutes to complete. I also posted it on the first post on page 1. I appreciate all of your help!

I'm more trying to gauge what the odds are that there are another 3-4 cities on JCS' schedule. That's very detailed, though; thank you!

Just got word from the booking company in charge of Phantom that, yes, this is the final season for the touring production. Its final stop is in Toronto in early 2020. Also, Derrick Davis is returning to the title role for the run, in case anyone's interested.

Sad to see the confirmation that Phantom is closing but it had such a great run on the road (even though it got mostly negative reviews on here ) . Derrick was a great Phantom in Philly back in 2017 and such a sweet guy at the stage door . Thought I saw him write on IG last month that he was going back to Lion King for a year though

Do the city theater schedulers really think Escape to Margaritaville will do gangbusters business on tour? I understand subscribers get what they get and when Hamilton is part of the package, they’ll overlook a lot and will buy season tickets regardless. It’s pretty rare for every show in a season to appeal to someone. But Hamilton is part of OKC’s current season and so far, I’ve noticed lots of empty seats the higher up you go at both A Bronx Taiwan’s and at Waitress. I don’t know. Maybe they don’t need the whole theater to sell out every performance at full price especially when it will with Hamilton. I also believe they raised prices for this season since it contained Hamilton. (I travel too much to commit to season tickets so I just grab tickets for individual shows when I can). I just know there are parts of the equation I’m missing. Do schedulers end up with some of these shows because they are what fits around the rest of their schedule or because it is what they have left that they can “afford?” Like I said, I don’t know how these things work exactly. I am also aware I might be underestimating the appeal of Escape to Margaritaville, but I really don’t think I am.

Jacksonville still hasn't announced.  We are getting Hamilton for the first time and I really think what will be left of our season, are shows that they could get at a lower price.  As I predicted, School of Rock is next week and hasn't sold well at all.  They announced a $30 lottery a couple of days ago and I will know tomorrow if I won.  If I do win, that will be 3 of the 4 shows that I got a really good orchestra seat, that I was able to choose myself ($30 each).  For me, why buy a subscription, when I can pay $30 a ticket.  I think our Artist Series is going to wise up and just bring in inexpensive nonequity tours.
