If we're talking Royal Court, the theatre upstairs is an absolute joy. Teeny tiny and a black box to boot. Saw the best production of Spinning Into Butter there.

But, as I said on a previous thread, my absolute favourite favourite theatre is the Donmar Warehouse.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Studio 54 of course! I also love the Plymouth, St James, and the Walter Kerr. The comfiest by far was the Gershwin.

I'm gonna have to go with the Public Theater in NYC. I love that there are 5 different spaces there, they're all so beautiful. I've only been in two (Anspacher and Newman), but judging from the two of them, the whole theater must be that nice.

I liked the Henry Miller...because it wasn't glamorous in the least bit, but there was something neat about it...

Agreed about the Nederlander. I love RENT, but I hate that theatre.

Yep, tall long legs right here. I was in the orchestra though. Still not very comfy.

Isn't 54 being renovated for Pacific Overtures? I know all the fun leopard print stuff that gave Cabaret such a wonderful atmosphere was taken out before Assassins, but I think they're going to put in regular seats. The seats there now are ungodly uncomfortable, but it's still a shame.

yes! no matter how uncomfortable those damn chairs are..or the line of stools in the last row of the orchestra...the setup of Studio 54 makes it timeless!

I also love the Marquis, Public, and Gershwin theatres!

The Nederlander has no leg room whatsoever. I like the decorating, but those seats... Did I really pay $50 for that? Oh well. Rent is fantastic. :)

Cara - I found the Marquis to have very little character. I loved Millie though.

Isn't the smartest answer to this question: the one with the most leg room?"

Now that that STARLIGHT EXPRESS is gone you can actually see the design og the Apollo Victoria, but I would rahter have STARLIGHT back.
