You are correct.
Believe it or not, SCARLETT (with a score by Harold Rome) had its World Premiere in Tokyo!
Then played in London, then toured USA with cast you mentioned but never made it to NY.
Reason I put it on list is because SCARLETT failed and I would like to see a SUCCESSFUL musical version of GONE WITH THE WIND.
Trivial Pursuit: When SCARLETT first opened in Tokyo, show ran
4 1/2 hours!!!
They must have comfortable seats in Theaters over there... :)

does anyone think that "steel magnolias" lends itself to a musical adaptation or should it be left just as a play?
i always thought "splendor in the grass" would make an interesting musical.
as far as recent movies, nothing really comes to mind at the moment.
