Forbidden Assassins: "I am unworthy of your words, Stephen, darling. I cannot sing your minor thirds..."
Wickeder: "We can still be friends, just say your sorry.... and hand over the Tony to me..." And that wierd laugh she does during the Popular segment.
Titanic segment: "I'm Leonardo Di Caprio. I'm from the side of the ship where there's a movie going on." "Let's be truly passioniate: let's spit big loogies overboard!!!"
Everyone Wants to Be Sondheim: "Listen as they hammer out one chord, Listen as they hammer it 'till everybody's bored, No wonder Sweeney Todd went out of his gourd..."
"Are the biggest starts on Broadway now chandeliers?"
My Souvenir Things
"It cost one hundred dollars to come see the show- And one hundred more to leave!"
Into the Words
"The thoughts are clear, if understood - I have no peer 'cause I'm so good. The score is the star. The stars are just wood. I sort of hate to ask it - But what's a rhyme for 'basket?'"
Aspects of Love
"I... I sleep with everyone. Sleep with Jenny, sleep with Rose."
"Who is Stephen Sondheim?" -roninjoey "The man who wishes he had written Phantom of the Opera!" - SueleenGay
one from F.B. SVU (from i am unworthy of your words) Teach me to. count in five... four.. time
The second is almost unequaled and it is from F.B. 1 (Angela Lansbury Sequence) and there must have been a million bucks, the producers threw away. could we recoup one or two, if the show had run past labor day?
I have never seen Forbidden Broadway, but a few days ago I saw Forbidden Hollywood, and they did The Sound of Music, Part 2, and it was hilarious. The actors actually had to pause to control their own laughter.
The whole or Wickeder, especially the 'Strap me in a harness' part and 'you're losing your equlibram, that green paint's seeped in your serebrum'.
Also 'Do you hear the people sing, singing the new songs of Les. Even Andrew Loyd Webber wishes these songs could be his...' or something like that also the whole 'Julie Taymore' bit from The Lion King Segment and 'Don't Cry for Me Barbra Strisand'.
I haven't seen FB for about year, but I was literally in tears laughing during the "Bernadette Peters" segment and the Liza segment. The impressions were so exactly perfect that I truly couldn't breathe from laughter.
My favorite on that CD (that hasn't been mentioned) is Judy's ill-pronunciation in "Everything Old is New Again." Just hilarious!
"If you are going to do something, do it well. And leave something witchy."-Charlie Manson
The funniest number has to be the Light In The Piazza number. I laugh so hard tears roll down my face. This from someone who has seen FB over 60 times, NEVER WEAR MASCARA WHEN YOU SEE FB. PS It is the best show ever written.
A new favorite is YOOOOOOOOO-KO, Ono!" (ala Oklahoma!) The Circle of Mice "What a bore you're in for... Ten Years Mooooooooore!"
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."
