They said it would come, but I was beginning to lose faith. Please tell me Michael's Anyone Can Whistle and Color and Light will be on there!
*runs to check*
Damn! No Color and Light. Maybe if this one sells, they will release another highlights cd from that day. There are so many songs I would like to have.
Cerveris' "Anyone can Whistle" is there, but that is all.
I will certainly buy the disc anyway. What is on there is great.

His performance of Anyone Can Whistle WILL be on the cd.
ETA: Aha, never mind! I would have loved Color And Light. I'm also sad "Can That Boy Fox Trot" and "Truly Content" won't be on the disc. They are wonderful rare gems and they were performed so well. I'm also going to miss Alice Ripley's "Getting Married Today."
Oh, my GOD. I can't wait until I own this.
smartpenguin, Michael's "Anyone Can Whistle" is included, so have no fear. :)

And I love Alex G, but we ALREADY have a recording of him singing "Unworthy of your Love". True it's not with Annie Golden, but we have a recording of HER singing too! I just wish they would have put some of the more rare stuff down. And how many recordings of Broadway Baby does one need?! I love the song, but really, I would have chosen some other things.
Yeah, it's definitely a lot of rehashing, but I think it's definitely worth it for Michael's "Anyone Can Whistle", Carolee/Gregg's "Move On", and Liz Callaway alone.
I remember being really close to where Micheal Cerveris was standing when he sang that song. I didn't really know who he was at the time, other than he had been in Assassins. He sang it to replace someone who couldn't make it. As soon as he started singing I instantly swooned.
I didn't get to see this, but I'm so excited about the CD. Especially for Michael Cerveris singing "Anyone Can Whistle" (and judging by everyone else's response, it seems I have good reason to look forward to it!) and Donna Murphy singing "Losing My Mind."
Carolee's Move On makes the CD worth the purchase. Simply stunning.
Ok, I have to find some money and buy this. Or else I just might go crazy.

Perfect timing...just when I'm broke. =P I'll just add this to the Birthday wishlist.
is this available now or at a later drop date?
EDIT: nevermind, i looked closer, it says on the site:
"SPECIAL ONLINE ADVANCE SALES!
release date March 14, 2006"
Ah well.
I hope they do release another.
Where's michael Arden's splendid GIANTS IN THE SKY?
um wow. I want that right now!!!
Didn't he flub a short bit of Giants in the Sky? I can't remember. There were tons of lyric flubs that day.
I definitely would've liked to hear Michael's "Giants in the Sky". Regardless, I am excited about this cd.
I don't remember him messing any lyrics, but i could be wrong.
I get kinda Fuzzy when I hear his wonderful voice!

Arden did stumble once in "Giants In the Sky," though he recovered quickly and finished very strong; still, I suspect they gave preference to the performances without any slips.
I was happiest to see that they're including Telly Leung's "Bowler Hat" -- a really stand-out performance of that very tricky song, and it's good to see him included in such an all-star group of Sondheim performers.

I WILL have this! One thing that I didn't love about listening to the concert was the shortage of Sweeney. Sure, most of the day was just a couple pianos and it's usually not the best idea to have Sweeney done without the orchestra (or so we thought), but I would have liked to see a bit more. I think all they had was "Green Finch and Linnet Bird" and "A Little Priest," which they cut a verse from. The list of performances listed a Sweeney Todd symphonic suite, but it wasn't there, at least not on my, um, very good memory.
BTW, I'm a little let down they won't have Carolee's "There Won't Be Trumpets." Oh well, here's to a second volume to go with this one.
