I know that there are a lot of tough names to figure out how to pronounce, just by reading them.
How do you pronounce Barrett Foa's first name?
if i'm not mistaken i think it's...
Barrett:
bear-et

I didn't know if it would be "bear-et" are "buh-ret". Like a hair clip.

I've been pronouncing the A in Barrett like the A in bat.
OK, this thread makes me happy. Help (in bold):
Charlotte D'Amboise
Sarah Uriarte Berry
Michael Berresse
(I'm sure I'll think of more)

So we don't have any other people who think differently on Barrett's pronunciation.
The name "Barrett" is of Irish origins; it wouldn't have a French pronunciation.

Wouldn't Barrett have the upside down "e" or "eh" pronounciation on the vowel of the first syllable rather than the sound in "bear/bare?"
Anyone know how he himself says it?

I always remember the pronunciation of his name this way:
BARE-IT

How do you say Celia Keenan-Bolger's name?
"SEE-lee-ah KEE-nan Bol-ger" (w/ a j-sound) or "SAY-lee-ah KEE-nan BOL-ger" (like with a g-sound)
The first one.

What about Alexander Scheitinger? How are the vowels in the first syllable pronounced (like a hard E or I or some combination) and is the G hard or soft? So is it SHY-TIN-JER, SHEE-TIN-JER, SHY-TIN-GER, SHEE-TIN-JER, or something else?
d'amboise pronounced:dem-bwa
Berresse:ber-es
For Barette Foa, I just call him Boa. I asked my French teacher how to pronounce it, but she couldn't get it. Its my little acronym for him! (did i spell acronym right?!?)
Lea Michele
Is it Lay-uh, or Lee-uh...or something else entirely?
Could someone help me pronounce John Lloyd Young?
(HEE HEE)
So "Bolger" is with a "j" sound, not a "g" sound?
Alexander Gemignani
Manoel Felciano(Is it like Felch-iano Or Fel-see-ano)
And for a character ...
HOW DO YOU SAY ENJOLRAS.

Enjolras = au(n)-johl-ras
j as in s in pleasure.
And, yes, final "s" is pronounced.
And on the other French side:
d'Amboise is dam-bwahz. Unless she says it wrong. Or her name defies French logic. Either way, her papa is dam-bwahz.
And Mano is Fel-see-ah-no...he's not Italian, so no "chee".

For a brief moment, I thought this was going to be an Idina thread. Thank goodness it wasn't.

"I didn't know if it would be "bear-et" are "buh-ret". Like a hair clip."
That made me laugh so hard. I was talking to someone on the phone a while ago (actually, she's from BWW too) and we were talking about something relating to Broadway and she said "Buh-ret" and I was like "huh?!" and she thought I was kidding because I love Barrett but she didn't realize I didn't understand because she was saying it that way. heh
Anyway, to make it easy- it rhymes with "carrot"

Repeat after me: O-wat-ta goo-si-am
Now say it a little faster: O-wat-ta goo-si-am
Faster: O-wat-ta goo-si-am
That's it,fella, that's how you pronounce it.
