Judy Kaye and David Hess will star in the tour of Sweeney Todd, playing Lovett and Sweeney, respectively.
Not that bad. Looking forward to seeing Kaye, especially, in January.
I am happy to hear they were able to work out a deal with Judy Kaye. They went into negotiations with her to tour just after the announcement of the Broadway closing and had been going back and forth to iron out a deal ever since then.
Yay! Now just announce the rest of the cast please.
Very funny: Hess' trademark, according to his IMDB plage, is that he "always portrays pyschotic homicidal maniacs".

I hope some Chicago dates are announced.
Nevermind, I answered my own question.
A simple search onto Broadway Across America's website brought me this:

Yay! I <3 Judy Kaye. I really wanted to see her when she played the role on Broadway, but this is good!
HOORAY!
ETA: Awww! No Chicago Dates yet!
Can't wait to see Judy Kaye!
Awesome. Loved Kaye as much as (if not more...) than LuPone.

Kaye was significantly better than LuPone.
I will be very surprised if Chicago doesn't get the tour since it is such a Sondheim town.
Yay! Awesome casting!
No San Diego date listed =..(
Hopefully one will be added.
They both were excellent, each in their own way.

IF they don't announce Chicago dates soon I'm moving to St. Louis where they get all the GOOD shows!

I know, right? Although, trust me, a couple of decent shows at the horrible barn of theatre ain't enough to make living in St Louis worthwhile.
But seriously, it sucks that this is yet another show not coming through Chicago.
yay i'm glad the tour is starting in Boston!

Is it bad if I don't know who David Hess is?

Loved Kaye. She was a breath of fresh air after LuPone towards the end of the run.
I really hope this comes to Philly.
Aaaw, I love David Hess. And Judy Kaye was a fantastic Mrs Lovett.
