How do you obtain your "extra" playbills when seeing a show?
Personally i do grab a few from the stack at the end of an row of seats. I end up with maybe 10 or 15

December 19th- Noises Off, Edith Piaf Concert at Town Hall
I usually grab an extra 2 or 3 during intermission from the stack that's usually sitting in a corner behind the last row. I used to take a few more than that but I realized I only really needed one for the "master collection" of one for each show I'd seen, one to get signed and maybe one extra.
"She sang each word, the angels heard ... They closed her mouth and shipped her south. The woman's done."
On my way out I take a few extra ones from the box that's always behind the last center aisle seat on the last row. That same box has been in the exact same place since I've been seeing shows on Broadway (1972). Same applies to National Tours.
I always use the one they give me. Then when I am leaving or their not looking I grab at least 3 more. One for my collection, one for a back up for my collection, and one to cut up and decorate my bulletin board in my dorm room.
The only time I took an extra playbill was when mine somehow disappeared during the show and I think I had wanted to get it signed so I took an extra from the pile in the back. Sometimes I get extras if I go with my family because I just end up having their playbills too. I don't do anything special with playbills except store them in a drawer so I don't really see any need for me to take more than one or two, but to each his own.
One Playbill PER PERSON Please! Didn't you see when Audra was on the View? People had taken so many extra Playbills for 110 in the Shade that there wasn't even ONE for Elisabeth Hasselback to holdup when Audra performed!!!!!
I wanted an extra one for my scrapbook one time, so I just picked one up that another audience member had left behind. There's usually a few; no need to go rifling through the ushers' scret stashes. :3
See, I'm the kinda fella who takes what he gets - the original one I'm handed before taking my seat. Depending on who I'm seeing the show with (friend or family), they'll usually let me have theirs, and then (of course), I'll do my best to snag a fwe while making my way out of the theatre. I like to have a few for extended family (to show around and bring from place-to-place, etc.), one for autographs and another to use for my wall and desk display. That's just me, though.
