"Evi was trashing the producers and rewriting the script"
"Randy was fiddling around with his blocking, showing off his enormous codpiece"
"Randy didn't show up for the hearing, which was held in Los Angeles. But his wife did and, according to a report on TMZ last week, berated several Equity staff members, including a 76-year-old receptionist whom she allegedly kicked in the shins, "drawing blood."
"Equity reportedly took out a restraining order against her"
'Evi, in turn, says staffers broke her finger, and she has requested a restraining order against them.'
"During the 61/2-hour hearing, Evi repeatedly screamed that the allegations against her husband were part of a "Nazi plot,"
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

It's so exciting to see the drama unfold as it happens. This will be one of those things that people will be talking about in 20 years-- "Remember when that actor went nuts and they had to cancel the show & ban him for life??"
Of course, I still feel awful for everyone involved in the show, especially the cast and the producers who put up the millions of dollars that have been flushed down the terlit. Do we think they can (and will) sue the Quaids for damages?
The folks who really are at a loss here are the creative team, who wrote the book, an original score, and directed the musical, in its Off-Broadway and pre-Broadway mountings.
It now looks like their piece of art will never see the lights of Broadway just because of these screwy nut jobs.

If he lost his Equity card and is banned from ever joining the union again....is he legally bound to pay the "fine?"
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Wow. Not since Nicol Williamson. This one is a lulu!
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

Remember that Quaid sued the producers of Brokeback Mountain. His case was about being paid scale for a "small art-house movie" that went on to become a hit. He was asking for 10 million dollars, but eventually dropped the suit.
While I don't know the real story here, it seems a bit over the top to ban Quaid for life. Mandy Patinkin was doing worse during The Wild Party.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

I remember reading that the producers sort of gave away the farm and Quaid contractually had complete creative control or some such thing. If he had THAT, I'm sure there were some other stipulations about being 'let go' that would have made it impossible.
