"But seriously, I've always liked the name Jules for a boy (SITPWG)"

Jules is also Julie Reiber's nickname.

How did I know you were gonna say that and that you would be stalking me as soon as I posted. No I'm not BFF's with Julie. Everyone knows that it's her nickname if they go on her website or even her Facebook. She calls herself Jules all the time.

Why don't you broaden your Broadway horizons? I've never seen you not talk about either Wicked or Spring Awakening. This may shock you, but there are more shows in New York.

Haha Man In Chair. Nice one.

I love the name Sutton, and I honestly think Wendla is a pretty name, I'm not just fangirlin', but without the pronounciation. Pronounce it like a W, not a V.
And maybe Tim after Tim Curry

I have never gotten to see the show "Ragtime," but I love the name Sarah and it would be at the top of my list for a girl. Sally(a forum of Sarah)is also the name of one of my favorite characters in the "Sonic the Hedgehog" TV series and comic book, so I kind of have name inspiration from that.

Lea is another girl's name that I think is pretty; I liked the name even before I became a Lea Salonga fan. Same thing for the name Kim.

For a boys name, I like the name Micheal; not necessaryly named after Micheal Crawford or Micheal Ball though.

I've decided I'd actually consider Pascal as a possibility for a first name.

Pascal Laurent.

It's a name I've always considered, but just noticed now that it could be related to broadway in some odd way.

Lansbury

Preston (after Robert Preston)

And last but most fabulously: Fierstein! That would make such a terrific first name.

I really don't want kids. But if I ever had a son he would be named Raul Julian. I like the play on Raul Julia's name. But he would be called Jude which is an homage to Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

It's funny because I was just thinking about this the other day, before I knew the thread existed. I think that Annaleigh is a really pretty name. Sutton's cute. But yeah, I just think Annaleigh looks pretty and sounds pretty. :)

Not children, but many of my electronics and other possessions are named after Broadway characters.

My laptop is Maureen (with a background of the New York skyline and mooing sound effects), my old iPod is Angel (with a zebra-print skin), my new iPod is Roger (he's Touchy!), and my cat is Mimi (she came with the name; I tried giving her a leopard-print collar, but she did not agree).

What can I say? I like themes.

As for children, my favorite names have always been Ian and Charlotte. I also love Jude and Julian for a boy and Jordan for both sexes. And Audra or Audrey for a girl (even before I knew the Broadway connections). And I know that if I have a boy, his middle name will be Russell, after my grandfather.

My guinea pig is named Roxie, after Roxie Hart from Chicago.

Anyway, I've always loved Shakespearian names for girls, if that counts. Ophelia, Emilia, Bianca, etc. I sort of want to give a girl the middle name Jane after Jane Eyre. I also love opera names: Adele, Susanna, Zerlina, etc.

Cosette's real name is actually Euphrasie. I think that's super pretty, but people would butcher the pronunciation, I'm sure.

Anyway, for guys I love musical theatre names. My favorite is Erik, after the Phantom of the Opera. I just love that name with that spelling. I also really want to name my son after the Scarlet Pimpernel, Percival Blakeney, but I am aware that a kid named Percy would probably get beaten up. A lot. And then it's also the name of that snobby dog from Pocahontas.

Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

Spork Goddess-- Yeah, I love Sir Percy, but "Percy" is not the most masculine name. I was thinking maybe using "Blakeney" as a middle name. Or even as a girl's name.

I have no idea how to pronounce Euphrasie. I've always said it so that it rhymes with "You crazy?"

Boys:
Cole (After Cole Porter)
Jerome (Jerome Robbins)
Gene (Gene Kelly)
Claude (Hair)
Johnny Gallagher (I like how it sounds..I'm not even super obsessed with him. I really love the name though)
Anton, Anthony, or Tony (The Anton from West Side Story, Anthony as in Anthony Rapp, and Tony as in Antoinette Perry Awards)

Girls:
Nessa (Wicked)
Gwen (Gwen Verdon)
Kristin (I've always loved the name)
I would use Idina as a middle name, but probably not a first name
Belle (I've always loved Beauty and the Beast)
Adelaide (So I can laugh at her whenever she develops a cold)

For girls, I really like the names Annaleigh and Haven. I think they're both cute names.

For boys, I've always liked the names Matthew and Aaron, which could relate to certain Broadway people (Morrison and Tveit).

When my boyfriend asked me what I would name one of our kids if we had any, I said Cheyenne for a girl and Jackson for a boy.

He had no idea I wish that would be the real father of my children. [sigh] Damn me and my unrealistic love for the gay men.

Seriously though, I would totally name my daughter's after some of the kids in Annie since it was the first musical I had ever heard or seen.
