Warren just endorsed HRC on the Rachel Massow show. I really hope HRC chooses her as VP. I find her incredibly inspiring.
I posted this in the other thread as well! I'm alone in my shop and ended up jumping to my feet clapping at the end!

Warren just finished with Maddow. What an extraordinary day, the Democratic Party in full control of the conversation, news cycle, and indeed demonstrating their ownership of the nation's moral compass.
Warren's take on Trump, and her support of both Bernie and Hillary was a thing of beauty.
The USA story of Trump stiffing contractors and small businesses and employees got a lot of run today as well.
My only major concern is that the GOP will find a way to dump him before the convention. I think with Trump on the ticket the down-ballot effect will be (in the words of Sanders) HUUUUUGE.
Yes! Warren's speech and then Maddow appearance were such a fantastic one-two-punch. All this Warren VP talk makes me nervous, though. It seems short-sighted. We need Warren to continue to be one of the most powerful, influential and popular voices in the Senate. I want her to continue to challenge the Democratic establishment from the left. Making her Veep is, well, almost like putting a muzzle on her. I don't think Hillary needs Warren to win the election.
I think Warren's Maddow appearance was a signal of more to come. She gave a highly effective demonstration of how you can effusively praise Bernie Sanders while forcefully supporting Hillary Clinton. I think she has the potential to be the most successful bridge builder between those camps and pave the way for Bernie's strong endorsement of and campaigning for Hillary in the months ahead.
Also, as Veep candidate, I'm not sure she could be as fiercely unrestrained as she has been recently in her attacks on Trump. She's able to say things about Trump and say them in a forceful, provocative way that an official candidate might not be able to. I think she'll be much more effective as a strong advocate than as an official insider.
Here's that Maddow appearance, btw:
Dear DNC. Here's text for a 50 state strategy TV campaign.
"A Trump Presidency Would Spawn ‘Trickle-Down Racism.’" Mitt Romney
HuffPo is reporting that Meg Whitman (and her money) may support HRC.
That video and her tweets this week are what I think is a fascinating look at what's going to come in the next few months. It looks as if they're testing the waters to play on Trumps turf - the Internet. But they're not name calling and screaming, they're making him look like the fool, liar and fraud he is. It's a fascinating approach to take, since he doesn't really have a "team" working for him, he just tweets out whatever pops into his head and his responses to all of this will be that of a second grader.
Joe Scarborough (whom I detest) offered Hillary some advice this week, when he did a 180 degree turnaround and went from loving Trump to hating Trump.
He told her that the best way for her to hurt Trump in public is to treat him like a joke. Scarborough said Trump HATES it when he's not taken seriously, and that if treated him like a fool, it would drive him crazy.
Something tells me Hillary doesn't need Scarborough's advice, but that's exactly the tactic she's taking.
I was afraid it was going to be an ugly 5 months, but now I think it's going to be fun.
I agree. Plus, I don't think Trump will ever agree to a debate with Clinton. I have a feeling he'll say he doesn't need to and they'll never stand side by side, so at least we'll have this "twitter war".
I think it's a little more nuanced than that. I wouldn't say that Hillary herself is treating Trump as a joke. If anything, I'd say she's treating him very seriously - as a legitimate threat to America's safety and our national identity and values. Take a look at her fantastic speech from last week. Was the audience laughing? Sure, many times. But she herself was dead serious throughout most of it. That's part of what made that speech so effective, so damning. Expose him as a joke? Sure. But joke about him? I don't think we'll see her do that.
Now, there will be campaign surrogates and official and unofficial campaign ads that might strike that tone, but I think the candidate herself is not going to turn this into a yuck fest. And, I think that's pretty smart.

State Package for Hillary Clinton
By Maya Angelou, January 2008.
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may tread me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
This is not the first time you have seen Hillary Clinton seemingly at her wits' end, but she has always risen, always risen, don't forget she has always risen, much to the dismay of her adversaries and the delight of her friends.
Hillary Clinton will not give up on you and all she asks of you is that you do not give up on her.
There is a world of difference between being a woman and being an old female. If you're born a girl, grow up, and live long enough, you can become an old female. But to become a woman is a serious matter. A woman takes responsibility for the time she takes up and the space she occupies. Hillary Clinton is a woman. She has been there and done that and has still risen. She is in this race for the long haul. She intends to make a difference in our country. Hillary Clinton intends to help our country to be what it can become.
She declares she wants to see more smiles in the family, more courtesies between men and women, more honesty in the marketplace. She is the prayer of every woman and man who longs for fair play, healthy families, good schools, and a balanced economy.
She means to rise.
Don't give up on Hillary. In fact, if you help her to rise, you will rise with her and help her make this country the wonderful, wonderful place where every man and every woman can live freely without sanctimonious piety and without crippling fear.
Rise, Hillary.
Rise.

Oh, Jesus Christ. Maya, what the hell were you thinking when you wrote that? Wish you could tell us from beyond the grave...
Clinton nails it.

Of course she did. She always does.
Wow, the difference in Clinton's response then Trump's. A thought out response, a let us not jump to conclusions but wait to see what the investigation is. An adult talking! Trump? Obama is a radical Islam Sympathizer!
How exactly does one monitor lone wolves or online radicalization? Yay, more Patriot Act-style surveillance! Cuz its clearly really super working!
Loved how she made it all about ISIS. Because, you know, this shooting was really all about ISIS.
I was hoping to hear a more definitive recognition of the scourge of homophobia in her remarks. But, let's be honest, when it comes to LGBT rights, our gal Hill has more often been a follower than a leader.
You guys will never be satisfied, will you?
HILLARY CLINTON, SUNDAY MORNING, JUNE 12, HOURS AFTER THE SHOOTING:
“I want to say this to all the LGBT people grieving today
in Florida and across our country,
you have millions of allies who will always have your back.
I am one of them.”
Listen, you guys, using the death of 49 gay people as an opportunity to bash Hillary is just not cool.
Full statement, my emphasis, for your sakes.
On Sunday, Americans woke up to a nightmare: Another act of terrorism in a place no one expected it, a man with a gun in his hands and hate in his heart, apparently consumed by rage against LGBT Americans -- and, by extension, against the openness and diversity that define our way of life.
No matter how many times we endure attacks like this, the horror never fades. The murder of innocent people always breaks our hearts, tears at our sense of security, and makes us furious.
So many of us are praying for everyone who was killed, for the wounded and those still missing, and for all the loved ones grieving today. As a mother, I can’t imagine what those families are going through.
But we owe their memories and their families more than prayer. We must also take decisive action to strengthen our international alliances and combat acts of terror, to keep weapons of war off our streets, and to affirm the rights of LGBT Americans -- and all Americans -- to feel welcome and safe in our country.
Here’s what we absolutely cannot do: We cannot demonize Muslim people.
Inflammatory anti-Muslim rhetoric hurts the vast majority of Muslims who love freedom and hate terror. It’s no coincidence that hate crimes against American Muslims and mosques tripled after Paris and San Bernardino. Islamophobia goes against everything we stand for as a nation founded on freedom of religion, and it plays right into the terrorists’ hands.
We’re a big-hearted, fair-minded country. We teach our children that this is one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all -- not just for people who look a certain way, or love a certain way, or worship a certain way.
I want to say this to all the LGBT people grieving today in Florida and across our country: You have millions of allies who will always have your back. I am one of them. From Stonewall to Laramie and now Orlando, we’ve seen too many examples of how the struggle to live freely, openly, and without fear has been marked by violence. We have to stand together. Be proud together. There is no better rebuke to the terrorists and all those who hate.
This fundamentally American idea -- that we’re stronger together -- is why I’m so confident that we can overcome the threats we face, solve our challenges at home, and build a future where no one’s left out or left behind. We can do it, if we do it together.
Thank you for standing together in love, kindness, and the best of what it means to be American.
Hillary
