Go to a public school in one of the areas of new york you probably never visit. Get to know the kids and teachers there. Take a look at what corporate education reform (sponsored by people like Clinton, Cuomo, and Booker) has done to public schools in those neighborhoods. And then come back and tell me how Hillary Clinton is going to be the most progressive president ever.
YOU yourself once said that neither major party in this country represents the working class. I guess the difference is you don't care.
"
YES!!!! BRAVO!!!
The real reason for education problems starts in the home. People are having children and should not be doing so. Period. They'd rather text than care for their kids.
Part of the reason for my good education was how my parents raised me; they read to me, helped me with homework, attended PTA, and cared!!!
i don't think that happens today.
And parents expect the school to be the third parent and the iPhone the babysitter.
So cut the crap. Mrs. Clinton will be a fine president. I don't care about her labels.
Van Jones has a message for all you Hillary Haters:

(And by the way, Meryl Streep and the others cheering in that GIF are all Hillary supporters. So much for your point.)
And this happened

Listening to him talk embarrasses me as a member of this country. This will be a blowout against stupid. Please just calm the f*** down.
I'm happily voting for Hillary in November. I mean, of course I am. And, yes, PJ is right. She will likely be the most progressive president of our lifetimes - especially if she gets two terms. But, here's the thing: so would virtually any other Democrat serving as President at this time. Just look back at the 2008 campaign rhetoric and try and tell me that 2016 candidate Hillary isn't a lot more progressive-sounding than 2008 candidate-Hillary. Has she evolved? I suppose, but let's not deny that she's also (usually) adept at figuring out which way the wind is blowing and... going there. That's not a slight against her. That can be a valuable political skill. And, it's not just her. Obama (rightfully) gets credit for, for example, his efforts supporting LGBT rights - his justice Department forcefully supporting marriage equality in the courts, ending DADT, this month designating Stonewall a national a national monument. But this same president, like Hillary before, was openly opposed to marriage equality when virtually everyone on this board - perhaps everyone you know and love, supported marriage equality. He only "progressed" to his current view well after it was socially acceptable with a majority of Americans. And, frankly, I'm not convinced he would have come out in support of marriage equality at that exact moment had good ol Biden not forced his hand by publicly stating his own support for marriage equality.
Hillary, of course, had the cover of being Secretary of State during Obama's period of LGBT progression and not being able to comment on domestic policies, but if "human rights are gay rights and gay rights are human rights", that cover was total bull****. She wanted to be sure public opinion had changed dramatically enough before she publicly supported marriage equality.
I'm not sure if progressing with the times is a sign of being a "true" progressive or not. But, I'm also not really interested in purity tests of the Left. She will almost certainly be the most progressive president of our time, precisely because she is... of our time. But, the important thing is that she will be the most progressive yet. And, that's good enough for me.
EDITED TO ADD: All that said, on domestic economic policy (and regulation) and, yes, on foreign policy, I think it's less certain that she'll be the most progressive president of our time. I have hope that she could be, but, let's see.

Lin Manuel Miranda and Hamilton...offering a fund raising performance on July 12th. Tickets are pricey but there is a contest for 2 good seats with HRC, hotel and airfare...

You don't have to donate but you can give as little as $1 if you are so inclined. Good Luck!
(and if you want to hate on this, you're hating on "Hamilton" and LMM too).
And this was not her first time at our rodeo!
51-39 in the latest poll, with a staggering 64% of respondents believing Trump is not qualified to hold the office.
Those numbers mean that at least some people who think Trump is not qualified will still vote for him.
I saw her later that day (When she was wearing the block jacket and hat) walking with her Secret Service guys down by city hall. What was funny was, her Secret Service guys were dressed in Hawaiian shirts or polos, long shorts and black shoes with black socks! All wore Ban Rays. She did pause and say hi.
About that hat, did she inherit it from Bella Abzug?
Clinton and Warren are scheduled to make their first joint campaign appearance any minute now in Cincinnati.
Anyone else watch Clinton & Warren? If that was an audition, I'd say she'll get a callback.
If we can focus on the matter at hand, did anyone else see Warren and Clinton? To me, they seemed to feed off each other, and the crowd ate it up.. Clinton also acknowledged the folks who weren't able to fit into the venue. Have there been many other cases where the Clinton campaign has had to turn folks away? I'd be interested in hearing the opinions of others.

I vote for the former.
Much has been made about the size of Sanders' events versus Clinton's. but she deliberately went for smaller events where she could be more personable, which is her forte. Now, using Warren as her opening act supports drawing the larger crowds, pumped up by Warren's attack dog style. That in turn energizes Clinton's delivery. It's a good thing at this pivotal moment in the campaign.
While I would love seeing Warren as VP, I'm not sure if they see it as the best long term choice. We'll soon hear about how Warren is overshadowing Clinton, I'm sure. The media and too many Americans refuse to believe two intelligent and confident women can work together. Sexist "the claws have come out" stories are inevitable. They may decide it's too much of a distraction closer to the election.
That said, after an event like today's, it would feel like a major letdown to pick someone like Kaine, self-described "boring" candidate. Is there some other role for which Warren could be announced, that would still feed the momentum?

BE GONE, WICKED WITCH! BE GONE! BE GONE FOREVER MORE!
Scott Brown is now trying to make himself relevant again, openly vying for the VP slot on Trump's ticket. He and Trump are now calling Warren a racist, and calling for her to take a DNA test. Disgraceful.
