And Quinnipiac is the stupidest of all the polls. (It's not even a good college.)
But, seriously, all the polls have samples too small to have any accuracy. It's 2016 and there are things called computers--they need to change the whole concept of polling.
Rather than focusing on any individual poll, better to rely on the analysis by the smart folks at 538. Their numbers are constantly being adjusted as new data emerges, but they are unparalleled at making sense out of all the data.

The reason why I said earlier in the thread that whenever I hear Quinnipiac Poll I roll my eyes.
The smart folks at 538 also rate the pollsters based on past performance, and also show their lean (lean is not bias).
What's up with RBG? A sitting justice shouldn't be weighing in on a presidential election. She is opening herself up to legit criticism.
RBG is one of my personal as well as professional heroes and this whole situation has been so uncomfortable. It's not true that Supreme Court justices stay out of politics, as a couple of articles have laid out (Scalia was one of the worst), but she seems perhaps to have been the most calculated in recent times. Here's my somewhat informed guess--she has hinted her retirement plans are tied to serving longer than Justice Brandeis, the longest serving justice, which she has either passed or will pass soon. She is also Jewish, and she is profoundly aware of the history of not speaking up against demagogues. She's built up so much personal capital and decided now is the time to use it.
Dahlia Lithwick at Slate has a different theory, that she feels the need to defend the judiciary, which has been under attack by both the Repub congress and their presumptive nominee.

When many Democrats and Republicans unite over their criticisms of a liberal "icon," you know someone has messed up. RBG is that person. She clearly has nothing to lose and doesn't really care but I agree. It's completely inappropriate, even as frightening as Trump is.
I just saw on CNN that if the election ends in tie, she will have to excuse herself from the voting.

Her comments are truthful and accurate and the majority of Americans know that! In light of her position she should have refrained. Her comments do not prevent her from hearing any case before the Court. Her statement today should put the "controversy" to rest. Trump will try to use it as an inflammatory device to incite the minions to violence, but I am sure that RBG would trounce Trump in any favorable rating poll.
CNN has become a place where racists and morons spout their vitriol and hate.
...Huh? SCOTUS doesn't get involved in a tied election. It's decided by Congress, with the House selecting the president and the Senate selecting the vice-president.

"I thought SC made Bush President?
I didn't see the report, but I'm guessing they're talking about a SCOTUS decision like Bush v Gore in 2000.
That wasn't a tied election. That was a court case involving the Florida recount that determined how the state's electoral votes would be distributed.
Oh OK, thank you Kad, MadBrian, you are right.
I agree, though, that RBG would probably need to recuse herself from any case before SCOTUS that involves Trump, a Trump administration, or a Trump business in the interest of appearing impartial (even though the justices are certainly not politically neutral).
I doubt it. The Court has a track record of justices not recusing themselves from cases unless they were directly involved either as counsel (Kagan) or in the lower court proceedings. O'Connor spoke out against Gore's election yet participated in Bush v. Gore, for example.
Actually it is quite sad that the best the USA has to offer is these two candidates. I was in Dublin, Ireland pub one night last March and nice gentleman in conversation said basically the same thing to my wife and I when he found out we were Americans. I already know I will be a 3rd party voter for the first time in my life.
Multiple sources are reporting that Trump will pick Pence. Total empty suit.
Probably the worst choice possible. Doesn't help Trump suck up to movement conservatives and does him no good with mainstream Republicans since Pence has attempted anti-gay and and anti-woman dog whistles only to fall on his face.
Trump's campaign is the worst ever.

Agreed, however his temperament is the exact opposite of Trump's. I suspect that was the motivating factor.
Even Tim Tebow has now dumped Trump.

As Donald would say, "Sad, very sad."
Well, Tim was always known for his persuasive oration.

It just gets weirder. Pence is a putz. Not even liked in his home state. His presence on the ticket should motivate all voters that support equality as a basic human and constitutional right.
Wonder if Ten Nugent will burn Obama in effigy on the stage next week? David Duke discussing Sammy Sosa on the benefits of face bleaching?
Elizabeth Warren is not on today's announced speaking schedule for the convention- it was previously reported she had been invited to speak on the first night in a primetime slot. But the announced speakers for that first night are Sanders, Michelle Obama, and Astrid Silva. Warren isn't an announced headline speaker at all at this point, which seems odd.
Moreover, it seems and Warren and Clinton met privately today at Clinton's DC home.

Then I think it's clear Warren becomes the automatic front runner for that VP slot. Interesting...
