Now that the Berners have booed Bernie, they are officially the Second Worst People in the world, after Trump supporters, who are obviously the First Worst People in the World.
Wikileaks is claiming Clinton Campaign behind the Russsian Conspiracy.

Clinton campaign pushing lame conspiracy smear that we are Russian agents. Last time we were Mossad. Get it right. https://archive.is/4sg1J
It's always worth keeping in mind that frequent Facebook commenters, obsessive Tweeters and those with enough free time to take time away from work and fly to Philadelphia for a convention are not necessarily going to be representative of the larger electorate. Multiple polls have shown that an overwhelming majority of Bernie's supporters will vote for Hillary. That said, watching some hardcore Bernie bros boo him in Philadelphia this afternoon is dismaying. They seem intent on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
(I think he rather smartly ignored them for the most part, making them look like even more like unrepresentative outliers.)
I didn't want to start a new thread for this even though there have been some previous BLR's...
So here, for your "peepers", some Bad Lip Reading of Ted Cruz and his Trump remarks at the RNC.

(I can't wait to see DWS's lip reading)
Sanders just texted his supporters "I ask you as a personal courtesy to me to not engage in any kind of protest on the floor. It's of utmost importance you explain this to your delegations"
And, now, we have delegates at the convention, booing the new permanent chair, Rep. Marcia Cross. Making your voice heard via roll call vote is democratic. Booing Rep. Cross is not. These fanatics are giving progressives a bad name. Hope they listen to Bernie's text message. I have to say, Rep. Cross shut them up forcefully, but respectfully.
Geez. I blame it on the Chik Filet that they are serving in the convention center. What happens to the boycott?

The disrespect and abhorrent behavior shown to not only Rep. Fudge but to Bernie Sanders himself is just beyond belief. Have they no understanding of what they are doing? I never thought I would feel badly for Bernie Sanders and yet respect him even more, at this time. This is not how problems or issues in dispute, are faced or resolved. These "informed" and elected delegates are literally facing each other on the convention floor, with disdain and hate in their eyes...red faced with anger! There will be violence!
Trump and the Republicans are getting everything they want and more.
This is why I say the leaks story is a big deal. It's made these people feel they have been cheated and they are angry.
An unpleasant irony of this disgusting behavior is that it violates the kind of changes they're supposedly fighting for in Philadelphia. Bernie wanted to fight to make Superdelegates more representative of the voters in their respective states. And, he won major concessions on that front this past week. But when we have upwards of 90% of Bernie supporters saying they will support Hillary, these boorish, selfish delegates booing at the convention are, in fact, acting in opposition to the voters they represent. F*CKing children.

Even Petra lands a solid punch every so often ; )
Those folks are human beings who've lent a ton of sweat equity to a movement. They're not machines. Each person handles his or her outrage differently. That's why I wish Trump would dial back his demagoguery before someone is killed.
Hopefully tensions will be defused so that there's no repeat of the 1968 DNC convention.
Trump just admitted it.

Why are the Sanders supporters on the convention floor ALL LILY WHITE?
And why are they booing a civil-rights leader?
These are not progressives. These are jack-booted thugs.

I'm beginning to think they are trump supporters in disguise. If they don't vote for Hilary they are voting for trump intentionally
Demi Lavato was nice. Her backup dancers.... That's another story.
I doubt it is a large proportion of the Sanders delegates but they do feel betrayed and they were. I'm just surprised that they are surprised. I'm not surprised, however, by the reaction. Civility has been losing ground on both sides of the aisle and in all quarters. In this case, javero, I agree with you 100%. We have enough people hating us from other places.
Michelle's speech is thrilling.
"I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves and now watch my daughters playing with their dog on the White House lawn."
"Don't let anyone tell you that this country is not great already."
When Elizabeth Warren is the weakest of your prime time speakers, it's a pretty good night.
Wow great night! I was really impressed with the speakers. Michelle (Melania will have a lot of new material now) Elizabeth Warren's and Bernie's. Left me feeling rather positive. It seems the Bernie or Bust people calmed down later on in the proceedings. It is time to let go and move onward.
Michelle absolutely crushed it. What a terrific speech. Warren did well for herself as well, and Sarah Silverman's "You're being ridiculous" was so needed. I thought Bernie had a very nice speech- as irritating as many of his supporters are, I have never believed him to be anything but a fundamentally decent man fighting for his beliefs, and the speech was a great example of that quality while still being a strong endorsement of Clinton.
The Dems were clever to feature the more progressive wing of the party on opening night. Bernie was treated like a rock star which many of his younger supporters needed to see.
I sense that some of those younger supporters are still learning the hard lesson that politics is the art of compromise. The anti-TPP vote did not materialize but Hillary's team really helped Bernie's team close a few gaps in the college finance reform plan. I could never understand why Sanders didn't spell out that the tuition-free plan for students with family annual incomes <= $125k would apply to state college & universities only. I'm going to need to see some details on how it will be financed though. When he was out on the campaign trail, the plan was arguably on shaky ground constitutionally.
The roll call vote is arguably unnecessary but if it helps the delegates coalescence into a united front supporting the Hillary/Kaine ticket then so be it.
Overall an uplifting opening night.
Javero, I got the message was that the free college was for Public and State schools. I think he made it pretty clear.... funding that however not so much. I would assume that still has to be hammered out.
Funny you said Rock Star treatment. The shots of the young kids clutching their Bernie signs and crying during his speech did make it feel as such. The Dems put on a good show! I turned it off really feeling uplifted.
