If you didn't care, you wouldn't respond to me. It MUST be a bother to you that I'm questioning your claim of once being a "card carrying Libertarian." I've clearly struck a nerve!
"The few Bernie-or-Busters who are left are all white, millennial whining babies who are becoming less and less relevant as the hours go by."
Once again the hyperbole exceeds the reality. Most, but not all young white people. Those whining babies become more and more relevant as the election nears, and once again you go about denigrating them. What's your problem?
Michelle Obama, and Bernie Sanders convinced EVEN me to vote for Clinton in November. I still don't fully trust Clinton, but she has come a long way since the campagin started. And I was happy to see her pledge to overturn Citizen's United. And Sanders is right, toghether they passed the most progressive platform in DNC history. I still think Sanders was the better candidate, and I think Democrats are taking a risk putting Clinton up as the nominee (and I think that's reflected in how disturbingly close the polls are) but there is no chance of anything in that DNC platform becoming reality with Donald Trump as President.
On a side note, I know they were loud last night (obnoxiously so), and that the media loves this story, but those Bernie or bust delegates are the minority of Sanders supporters. Volunteering for this campaign I have met hundreds of Sanders supporters. All of them have accepted the fact that Clinton is the nominee and that's who we need to vote for to stop Trump.
And I know the crying millenials seen on TV are an easy target to make fun of. But you should be grateful. Because without that passion I'm sure the DNC platform would not look like it does today.
Petra, it's no mystery that you're not fond of politicians. Who's to say that you won't become one yourself some day. For some voters, outrage leads to activism and eventually elected office. I never thought I'd sever official ties with the Democratic party until I did. You can largely thank John "Shakedown" Edwards and a former boss who was on stage at the DNC convention for that.
I just know those whining BernieBabies are going to throw more fits tonight and I have the Perfect Reply!
As Meryl Streep will be there tonight, she should sing The Star Spangled Banner to them as Florence Foster Jenkins would!!! HaHa!!! I can't wait to watch these fools again.
Thank you, ErikJ972, you and others like you are appreciated.
Erik is one of the good guys.
Thank you so much for posting that, ErikJ972.
Today's session was just called to order. The roll call will begin shortly. In other words, history is about to happen.
The first woman nominee of one of the major party's. Not one for the history books Brian. Not when we all expected it 8 years sooner and we're one of the last Democracies to even have a woman considered, Britain is up two-nil. Now the black guy winning in 2008, that was a proud day, this seems overdue.
I love you, Erik. I have always loved you. I have never stopped loving you.
Gonna be pissed if I'm not invited to the wedding.
Hillary Clinton will be the first major-party female nominee for president, put over the top by the delegates of South Dakota!
Well done, Bernie!
A glorious opening to the evening.
I haven't seen every moment of the convention, but I'm surprised Trump's taxes haven't gotten more attention.
The Mothers of the Movement piece is both heartbreaking and inspiring.

Stay tuned. You ain't heard nothin' yet.
Yeah.. patience...

As a rather orthodox libertarian (though a bit left-leaning in terms of my priorities), I must admit that javero hasn't often sounded much like a libertarian since I've been paying attention. But I don't question his honesty about his party affiliation, much less find any reason for hostility.
President Clinton is doing one hell of a job for the next President Clinton.

It's sad there so were no American flags posted throughout the stage. until it was noted by people. Also sad they brought on stage a woman whose son tried to kill and attack a police officer, that is truly disgraceful. Where are the families who lost family members from violence, who were actually innocent?
You are so stupid...

Goosbumps of the night: montage of past presidents ending with the shattering of glass. Regardless of your presidential preference, that image will shape the direction of our daughters and granddaughter's lives. Glad I lived long enough to see it.
I do believe that @z5 is going to be added to my signature. Quite the waste of bandwidth!
