I'm also glad to see the very talented Helena Bonham Carter get nominated for her work. I've been a fan of her's for may years.

"Wished Once Upon a Time, especially Lana Parrilla, got more noms"

So do I, but the cast of the show just seems very grateful to have such loyal fans. That really seems to matter a lot to them. Even though they are not huge awards, Parilla won the ALMA Award for Favorite TV Actress-Drama in 2012.

She was also nominated for the Imagen Foundation Award for Best Actress/Televison last year.

The fact that Ellen Burstyn one for her sleep walking in Political Animals over Sarah Paulson's BRILLIANT portrayal of Lana Winters last year just proves it.

I was expecting somebody from Mad Men not to be nominated and for it to be egregious. I somehow expected Hamm more than Moss because at least Moss had the tapes and a strong submission episode vs. Hamm who had to stay outside the box again in his Don Draper persona. I'm pissed.

It's silly to complain about Breaking Bad not getting enough nominations (I actually think HBO is confident it can overtake it with True Detective). But Dean Norris not getting nominated, Michelle MacLaren not getting a director nod, and not Rian Johnson for the harrowing 'Ozymandias' episode is disappointed.

Also need to note Breaking Bad last season actually had episodes that clashed with the Emmy telecast (And I missed that mess of a telecast for a great episode) so yeah, it will feel like just a year ago.

Silicon Valley overtaking Girls for Best Comedy and also getting a writing/directing nod (which easily could have gone to Girls or dare I say, Veep getting another writing nomination after 2 years of snubbage) but none for any of the other categories, particularly acting. I think HBO has no idea how toothless it made those nominations look but I guess it wants to diversify like it is the hot **** like it always is. Cannot wait for them being responsible for a Bobby Cannavale WTF? win.

I am goddamn sick of Paris Barclay being in people's way. He only gets in because he is President of the DGA and for the second year in a row he gets in for directing a Glee episode when that could have gone to so many different, better, and more interesting directed episodes of comedies.

I had how Brooklyn Nine-Nine missed out in so many major categories. I guess Veep is the strongest Modern Family dethroner.

Don't forget when she was nominated for her 13-second cameo in 2006's Mrs. Harris. In fact, her Emmy clip was her entire performance:

Why oh why do they keep snubbing Sons of Anarchy? the last season was fantastic and the performances from the leads are outstanding. Hopefully next year it will get some love since this season will be its final season

Very disappointed that The Good Wife wasn't nominated for Best Drama Series. The show was brilliant this season, but I guess the Emmys only nominate cable shows for Best Drama now. Glad to see Marguiles nominated again, though. I really hope she wins- her work this season was unparalleled. For that matter, this really should be Baranski's year, too.

Shocked that TGW wasn't nominated, the last season was the best they ever had. Great for Josh Charles.

Thrilled for Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tom Kitt.

I'm glad to see Allison Janney nominated twice, for MOM and for MASTERS OF SEX. She's really doing amazing work in both roles, characters that could not be more different.

Orphan Black is a Canadian show. Let their Geminis award it/her.

Yes, because obviously the Emmys are limited to American created shows...

Lots of disappointments here, but the fact that OITNB will probably dominate outweighs that a bit. The Emmy's are dirty this year with undeserving Silicon Valley and Big Bang Theory nominations and someone needs to sweep. See what I did there? Anyway, I think the prison show should and will win what's deserved and I won't be upset about it. That's some damn good television typing.

That said, it's Borderline-Soap-Opera-Tragic (meaning I'm angry by it but who really gives a **** anyway) not to see the names of Monica Potter for Supporting (yet again) or Lena Dunham for writing, though this past season of Girls really fell short for me. It still doesn't negate the fact that it's a life goal of mine to conquer the page with even a fraction of the sublimity and eloquence that is Ms. Dunham's mind.

Also, let it be known that I threw a legitimate kindergarten hissy fit when I realized there's no chance I'll get to see Damian Lewis and his sexy self accept Best Actor for Homeland like he damn well deserves.

Oh, Mad Men... you're still here? Is that an Emmy in your pocket or are you just Jon Hamm.

Lastly, biggest Wtf, Are You Blind Because You Must Be Snub (that's a thing now, too) goes to Maisie Williams for GOT. Unforgivable.

I'm thrilled that Lizzy Caplan got nominated for Masters of Sex. Lena Heady for Game of Thrones as well (where is Eva Green?) Otherwise, I'm glad that GoT got a lot of noms--I guess--and not really surprised by anything else... It mostly seems like they quickly considered what shows critics had been commenting on and made a list.

They really need to do something about the miniseries/movie category. A 10+ episode series, even if each season is going to be self-contained, mini-series never run that long anymore, and it seems unfair (not that anything about the emmys are fair.)

I would love to see Joanna Froggart win this year and let Christina Hendricks (along with Jon Hamm and ELisabeth Moss) win next year for their final season. I'd also gladly see Julia Louis-Dreyfus win again only because Veep is the best show on television now (besides Netflix programming). I'd love to see House of Cards and Robin Wright win as well, but if they only award one Netflix show, I'd rather it be Orange Is The New Black and the fantastic Uzo Aduba.

Of the Downton women, I would have preferred to have seen Phyllis Logan recognized. She was outstanding last season as Mrs. Hughes.

Orphan Black is a quarter funded by BBCAmerica so it should count--the same way Donwton is included because PBS helps fund it. I agree that Maslany deserved an award.

(And it DID get a lot of Geminis--but even Canadians don't care about those...)

I mean, you can say what you want about Mad Men and what it did to Don Draper that likely made the turned off the show to viewers, some in very high places at the TV Academy, irreparably but that does not come close to the self-sabotage Homeland did to itself not just in characters but in quality. Plus, I am pretty sure if Damien Lewis submitted, he had to do it in supporting considering he was barely in it for the third season. Not sure if he did or not but regardless of submission tape, any Homeland submission would have noted that characters absence a lot.

The Good Wife's campaign seemed like either just not well-chosen or not a good effort. Josh Charles obvious knew what his submission tape was but the show didn't submit 'Hitting the Fan' in ANYTHING. It's the episode everyone talks about. How? It would be like if Breaking Bad forgot about 'Ozymandias'.

I did see this comment coming, though those who have not seen all of Homeland did not, which was my intention. A good ol' SPOILER ALERT, from yourself, would have sufficed. That's on you now.

Anyway, clearly Damian Lewis as supporting actor would have been fair, but his name is absent from that as well. I'm upset. And if you're not, you must be a fan of the show Mad Men.

EDIT: The Jon Hamm bit was referring to his penis. If you don't laugh at it... I'm sorry?

2nd EDIT: Hi Stagey. I miss you.

What in my comment needed a spoiler tag? End of Season 2 would give an easy explanation why he could not appear a lot. Yeah, I don't like Homeland with exception to Mandy Patankin for its most recent season. I wasn't really referring to Jon Hamm as much as, 'Mad Men... you're still here?' bit. Yes, I like that show a good deal. Clearly both shows fell out of favor with the Emmys.

I actually agreed with you on the Lena Dunham should've gotten her nomination in writing and directing. And that The Big Bang Theory and Silicon Valley nominations were undeserved. Just noting that we do agree on things and sorry if my Homeland hate clouded that.

I just saw on TV that "Between Two Ferns" received an Emmy nomination. How does a short skit from a comedy website get an Emmy nomination??

My joke about the YouTube video getting an award might not be too far off.

Joss Whedon's first Emmy he ever won was for Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, another online, viral form, video blog. Apparently that won in the category of Outstanding Special Class – Short-format Live-Action Entertainment Programs. That's a mouth full, but I think that is the category where Between Two Ferns is in.
