Jane, I meant in this instance. Kris has a much broader appeal. How many people actually listen to high-wailing rock? I don't; I don't have Queen or Kiss or any such band on my iPod. Can I appreciate it? Sure, when it's done right (I think Adam oversang everything he did... I loved when he would just sing the melody softly and in control without belting a high E). I would think that more people would listen to Kris given his Jason Mraz/John Mayer feel. Again, much broader appeal. Kris has been my favorite since the very beginning. My opinion of Adam got worse as the weeks progressed. As Kris got better, Adam went too far south. Louder and higher does not equal better.

Oh, I was only kidding, Mr. Music! that's why I put LOL.

Anyway, this is all so subjective, isn't it? For me, Kris has absolutely NO appeal. there's nothing unique about his talent in my opinion. He's a lot like others.

I think Adam's got a really nice voice, pretty at times. I think he can be glamorous when it's called for, and sweet and soft at others.

Kris's single sounds great. His voice is very radio-friendly.

I still hate that song with a fiery passion, but Kris sounds great. I hope he goes back to his acoustic sound on his album then over produced pop songs like this.

Honestly, I really disliked Adam when I first heard him sang, but he really grew on me. I thought that he deserved to win, but oh well.

We all know that the real Idol was Normund Gentle.

I'm sad Adam didn't win, I've been following American Idol for the first time this year (I'm in the UK) and instantly took a liking to Adam. I love a showman. Kris has a lovely voice but he just seems...bland to me. Especially next to Adam - that's going to be one awkward tour, like the X Factor (our American Idol equivalent) tour in 2007 when the showman came second (and who has now had more of a career than the actual winner).

It can't be put down to homophobia although of course it played a part, and sadly for some people always will. I think it mostly came down to Adam's screaming. At times it was just too much - sure it was on key and in tune and great, but enough is enough sometimes and Adam should have had a few more understated performances like Mad World and he would have walked it.

I still think Adam is the one who will come out of this with a career, Kris seems to lack an identity, he just seems to me like a nice voice. We've had those in the UK, they don't go anywhere. Simon is going to sign Adam up with a record deal there is no question of that since he has backed him so openly and I think part of the reason Simon likes Adam so much is because he knows that Adam has appeal internationaly.

You haven't seen the last of Adam Lambert, if he really wants it he has a music career in front of him.

My only consolation is that Kris will have to sing that craptastic piece of sh*t, and Adam will not.

"My only consolation is that Kris will have to sing that craptastic piece of sh*t, and Adam will not."

I forgot to put that in my post. Yea, it is really an awful song. I got pretty excited when I heard it was going to be a newly written song, we usually get covers for our winners to sing over here. Then I heard the song. They'd do better with a cover.

Billy Bush twittered that 38 million of the 100 million votes came from Arkansas alone....a.k.a., Kris' home state.

hmmmmm.............

maybe if Adam had been from some small-town type place instead of southern CA. Who knows.

And Craww....is that Ruben? He's not from Arkansas....he's from Alabama.

Um, yeah. I'm aware. Sometimes on the internet humorous .gifs are used as "reaction shots" to what's being said.

Ruben is dumbfounded. Therefore, my comment was to suggest 38 million votes out of Arkansas was a dumbfounding amount.

I wasn't trying to be rude. I was just confused as to why there was a misunderstanding. (If I wanted to be intentionally rude to you, I would have gotten into the Chris Daughtry = authentic rocker argument. Getting yelled at by my aunt taught me not to argue that issue.)

In other news, I think Kris Allen should become the male version of Mandy Moore. This is my decree.

I just listened to Kris' studio version of "No Boundaries". Definitely much better than he sounded live, and it actually made me not hate the song so much. It just irks me how the song ends on an unresolved chord! *music nerd*

Adam's studio version is out there too. It's also not as bad as it was live. SPEAKING OF GLAMBERT, from EW:

I want to just get this question out of the way first, something that's been dangling a bit over you for the whole season: Would you like to put to rest all the speculation about your sexuality?
It's not dangling over my head. [Laughing] It may be dangling over yours, but it's not over mine. Yeah, I think speculation keeps things really interesting.

So you don't want to say anything one way or the other?
Like I said, I think speculation keeps things very, very interesting. [Laughs]

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Oh, wait. Shut up, Adam Lambert. Not interesting, just annoying. (Annoying, like a 27 year old man dressed up like a Fall Out Boy concert.) (Don't worry, bb. I still love you. I only know what a Fall Out Boy concert looks like because I just went to one. I can't judge.) (But, seriously, not actually that cute.)

I think those questions are more annoying. Who gives a crap what his sexuality is? The fact that it needs to be discussed is just stupid.

OMGGGG ARE YOU GAYYYY???? OMGGGGG

What is he, an animal in a zoo?

re: AMERICAN IDOL#2594

Posted: 5/21/09 at 9:11am

The questions are more annoying, that's always true. But the concept of there being anything to even speculate about is kind of ridiculous. Cute non-answers just send a message of "ask me again - maybe next time I'll say it like a real person!" Just perpetuates an annoying cycle.

But why should he directly address it when it's none of anyone's business? Why should he be forced to say something he doesn't want to say? He's damned if he says, "That's none of your business" because then everyone will say he's an ass, and he's damned if he gives non-answers.

I don't know how some of you are going to like this statement but...

But if what you say is true about Adam not winning because he is supposedly gay...

Did you like Adam and root for Adam because is supposedly gay?

You are know better off than not liking someone because they are gay than you are if you like someone because they are gay.

I couldn't give a crap if he's gay or not. He has the better voice, and that's why I was rooting for him. I would have much preferred Allison to win, but what can you do? :)

re: AMERICAN IDOL#2599

Posted: 5/21/09 at 9:30am

OMG MTVMANN was that even in English?

He's damned if he says, "That's none of your business" because then everyone will say he's an ass, and he's damned if he gives non-answers.

That's true, and it sucks. There's no answer to please everybody, and I recognize that. But me being annoyed with his answer isn't me trying to force him to say "I'm gay". It's just...me thinking the answer was annoying. At the end of the day? The man is gay, and his press decisions are irrelevant.
