Do any of you share my problem with bad comedy films? The worst ones will make you cringe in such discomfort and embarassment for the actors, directors, and writers who are trying so hard and getting nowhere on their quest for laughs?
AUSTIN POWERS IN GOLDMEMBER comes to mind when thinking of this. Especially the "Oh...his FA-ther" scene. It's so lame that just reading the IMDb quotes section for the conclusion to Mike Myers' trilogy is making me dry-heave.
I'm sorry, but Austin Powers in Goldmember is definitely my favorite of the three films. I thought it was definitely the funniest.
I really thought that The Cable Guy was just bad. As was Juwanna Man (Don't ask WH I saw that). But most really bad comedy films that I've seen I've blocked out of my mind. I've seen a ton, though.
Any Amanda Bynes movie.
Yeah, Cruel, there's WAY worse out there: anything with the Wayans....

THE SWEETEST THING
I asked for my money back.
The entire Scary Movie/Date Movie/Spoof movie series is atrocious.
Any National Lampoons affiliated movie not starring Chevy Chase comes to mind.
I didn't find Strangers with candy to be funny.
I thought of Austin Powers (all three) the moment that I saw this thread
Oh, I forgot about Wayans movies. Definitely the worst by far.
Did anyone see "Major Payne"?
I LOVED "Major Payne"
My vote would go to "Bewitched" **snoooore**
Austin Powers is funny when you hit it on the right day - overplayed, yes, but funny.
I have to second the votes on the Wayans movies - White Chicks was five of the most painful minutes of my life (yes, I ONLY managed five minutes - that's how atrocious it was). Comparatively Austin Powers is Casablanca, Gone With the Wind, The Wizard of Oz and Citizen Kane rolled into one.
That one about Napolean.
I LOVED "Major Payne"
Really?
Really?
I thought of Wayans too, but I couldn't say that I'd watched any of them because...I haven't, really.
The Wedding Date. Romantic comedy. Not that cute. Kinda dull.
Why does anyone let the Wayans do movies? This is why I think I should go into celebrity representation...I would *never* allow them to do Little Man. Ugh, I shudder at the mere thought of that movie.
Man of the House.
Horrible, horrible movie.

But which Man of the House? The Tommy Lee Jones/Cedric the Entertainer film or the Johnathan Taylor Thomas/Chevy Chase film?
For me, Cruel, the former. I love Tommy Lee Jones so I saw it in the theater. I regret it majorly. Oh well, it wasn't my eight bucks.
did i mention BENCHWARMERS? geez ...
Gigli is a genre of its own. Oi.
