ok, apparently a lot of us like buffy/angel... so, here's a thread.
has anyone noticed that a lot of people hate entire seasons, yet they love the show? kind of random. personally, i like seasons 1-3 the best. then 4 and 6 are tied. i hated season 5. dawn and glory just irritated me to no end. dunno about 7 yet. starting it this weekend (don't kill me! it was on at like 2 am on saturdays. not my fault i haven't seen it!)
own all on dvd...come to my house, we'll have a buffy/angel marathon. i'll pop the popcorn.
i love Buffy, although I gotta say, loved the early years the best. Especially when Angel was in it (*sigh*).
marquise, you better wait to have that buffy party til i can get my butt to ny... which i'm working on. give me another year.
I'm there too, I'll bring cocktails. But can we skip the ones with Riley? I hate Riley.
Liked Riley, loved Maggie and Adam!
REALLY loved James Marsters!
i liked riley better then glory and dawn. between the two i wanted to kill them myself. dawn's whiney, and glory was so predictable.
sooo... buffy/angel party over the summer? or next year?
I didn't mind Glory. Her storylines kinda sucked, but her character was hot and had some serious sass! Dawn, on the other hand, was a distaster. A skinny whiny disaster with no talent.
I adore this show. When I was younger, I would watch it every Tuesday night. Or was it Thursday?
One day, people will wake up and realize that Gellar is an outstanding young talent, and she's not being used. She was fine in "The Grudge", but she was brilliant in "Cruel Intentions". Here's hoping her career doesn't fade.
I adore Cruel Intentions. It's my favourite modern "teen" movie. Too bad she's an egotistical bitch in real life. But that's neither here nor there - she's a fantastic actress when she's in the right roles.
it was monday when it started (i think) and then it got moved to tuesday, then when angel started, it was tuesday at 8, angel was at 9, then when buffy changed stations angel got moved to monday (i think) am i right?
Why do I keep thinking it ended on a Wednesday? Or was that Angel?
"Too bad she's an egotistical bitch in real life."
Interesting. What makes you say that? I heard she's at least nice to her fans.
I'm someone who watches the first three seasons and bits of pieces of the fourth but not much beyond that. It lost a lot when it lost Angel and Cordelia. That initial character dynamic is one of the things that made it all work.

I heard that SMG was OK, and that it was Eliza Dushku who was the real bitch.
I worked with her on the set of Scooby Doo 2 (Do rent it - Oscar-worthy, I tell you) and she was stand-offish (at best) to the cast and crew, when she wasn't copping an attitude of entitlement to anyone who'd put up with it (including, unfortunately, me). I've also heard bad things from other people on the crew who worked with her full time on that shoot, so it wasn't just an off-day. I saw her being nice to fans when we were shooting on location, but, you know, she probably feels like she needs them more than she needs us, and unfortunately, she's sort of right.
Hey 86, she is indeed nice to her fans but a bitch to everyone else. I know a LOT of people who have known her/worked with her. She's not kind.
There were a LOT of coverups going on during the run of Buffy with the cast all pretending things were fine, but Sarah made it hell a lot of the time.
That said, she's still a name that drags my butt to movies to see what's up. I LOVE her. Would kill to see a Buffy movie.
I was called to do day work on Tru Calling but turned it down. Eliza was known as being horrendous, but so was the rest of the cast. (I think she got them off on the wrong foot, and the note was just sour for everyone from then on.) There was such a high turnover rate of crew members on that set, it wasn't a surprise that it got canned. It was tense and there was apparently more time wasted fighting than actually making a good show, which is why I turned it down. Because, you know, I can afford to be picky.
(Not.)
You're totally right about the snarkiness on the Buffy set, bwaysinger. I remember reading the EW article that broke the story that the show was ending. It was later revealed that that was how the rest of the cast found out about it and SMG didn't tell them herself. No apologies, nothing. And that was just the least of their problems.

Come to think of it, it may have been Tiff who was the one who told me that Ms.Dushku was a bitch, so y'know, I'd take it with a pinch of salt.
She drinks.

And has a vendetta against all women who are better looking than me.
(Which is why I love you so much.)
