Best villian was Drusilla. She creeped me out. The only thing scarier than an evil vampire is an evil and totaly psychotic vampire. The vacant, crazed look in her eyes, the slow, methodic movements and the far away voice were scarey as hell. Juliet Landau was pure genius in that role. She created one of the freakiest villians of all time.
The Gentlemen, from Hush, were also very creepy and scared the hell out of me.
Best line: Cordelia in the pilot episode "Nice outfit, Willow. I'm glad to see you discovered the softer side of Sears."
The Gentlemen scared the bejsus out of me. I could barely watch the screen when they were drifting around. I think Hush and OMW/F are among the best episodes. Joss is a genius!
Ooh, I forgot about Drusilla. Juliet was great. I didn't like Harmony very much. I liked Glory's character but not her storyline. Hmm...
Have to think about my favorite line as well.
i like the line "bored now." willow says it when she's a vamp and when she's evil.
I agree about the change in Spike. The balck leather with the red was very symbolic (the colors of darkness and blood and the leather which is historically a bad boy material)and added to the whole persona. The slicked back hair gave him a sleek, suave appearance that contrasted with the evil side. The whole look was subliminally sexual...the bad boy who can charm you out of your pants. The curly hair and addition of colors was a mistake. I guess you become a woos once you start dating the slayer. I think they trying to get rid of the evil image and make him come across as a hero when, in actuality, it was the contrasts in him that always worked to make him fascinating.
How about when Buffy's invisible and fighting with naked Spike in his hideout, and suddenly he looks down and goes, "Hey. that's cheating."
I loved Harmony just because she was the most pathetically incompetent villian ever. Vapid Valley Girl turned Vamp. itw as great.
Speaking of great lines, I don't remember all of them but Harmony had some wonderful lines in the episode where she gathered together a group of minions (extremely stupid vampires) to do her bidding as their leader. I'll have to watch that episode again because, although I can't remember any of the lines, I do remember laughing throughout it.
Oy, favorite villains. Dru's up there, I'd also say Angelus, because though I desperately missed Angel, he was everything a villian should be. Though with Dru, I actually liked her and found her seemingly more insane when she was weak. And I also thought it was quite weird that she never changed out of the white dress until she got strong and then never wore it again.
Harmony was pretty funny as a villian, and I just watched "Real Me" on FX yesterday.
Favorite slayer: Kendra. Even though it was only really one episode, her and Buffy really connected in different ways, and I was pretty sad when she died. At first, I actually really hated Fait, for some reason she just really annoyed me, I didn't warm to the character until she went bad.
Fav line: Oy, so many. I love ones where they like try to make it all like old-fashioned vampire movies than just totally throw in a line to make fun of it. A lot of these took place between Buffy and Giles, I think Spike had a few too. Xander had great ones...Cordy, ahh way too many!
But on the Bored now, Dol and I were talking about this a couple of nights ago, Buffy's continuity just rules. Like how dopplegang Willow was gay, and Angel made a quick mention of vampire's personalities to reflect the person. Faith making references to Dawn at the end of season 3, and the other way too. They were always referring back to earlier episodes, like in "I Was Made To Love You," Xander was making a guy joke and then randomly said "I miss Oz. He probably wouldn't have said anything, but I still miss him." Obviously continuously bringing characters like Jonathan around, and a lot of the high schoolers.
Also, the way the show just so incredibly understood its characters, as illustrated by episodes like "Earshot"(one of my all-time favs) when you read all their minds--I still love that library scene. Every character got a chance to shine, even Xander in "Grave." The way with the exception of stupid events in seasons 6 and 7, Giles became a father to Buffy. Ahh, I love this show!
I HATED the musical versian but..its entertaining..some of the cast members ARE SO TOTALLY HOT
I loved the musical version only because I thought it was extremely funny. hehehe
Hmm...best villian? I have to agree with Drusilla. Such a raving bitch. I did like Caleb though, too. He scared the bejesus out of me.
Best line? Can't pick, too many. Though I admit to a soft spot for "Well I'm not exactly quaking in my stylish yet affordable boots".
Buffy:
Season One was good
Season Two was better
Season Three was FABULOUS
Season Four was...eh...good
Season Five SUCKED
Season Six...I didn't watch because I was so sick of it
Season Seven...I only watched the finale and the two episodes preceding it.
(After halfway thru season five i tried to only watch episodes that might involve angel...)
Angel:
Season One: Awesome
Season Two: Okay
And then I stopped watching...I think there were...5 seasons?
I only watched the finale.
Roswell:
Season One: Amazing
Season Two: Great
Season Thee: Crazy
I'm listening to the Buffy Soundtrack now...Roswell up next.
I loved evil Willow, she was everything calmed reserved Willow was not in the outside world (although you could see hints of evil Willow in the earlier seasons when she was having sex with her boyfriend/girlfriend)
Ooh, I hated Caleb. Just didn't see the point and hated that he took out Xander's eye. Like I said, hated most of season 7.
Oh that eye thing messed me up! Although it did lead to Xander's "There's a party in my eye socket and everyone's invited...Sometimes I shouldn't say words" line, which rules.
Once More With Feeling is on FX right now, half over but I figured some obsessive Buffy/Musical fans would love to know. I adore this show, especially this episode. So good, I think I'll bust out my DVD
I think Harmony was my favourite "villain." She was absolutely hysterical as a vampire. I love the scene when Spike walks into their "lair" and she's listening to pop music and putting up a poster of a unicorn.
LOL!
Oh, I also liked that vampire at the beginning of I think Season 3- her name was "Sunday" I think.
Redhead Vampire: Does this sweater make me look fat?
Sunday: No, the fact that you're fat makes you look fat. That sweater just makes you look...purple.
I always hated that episode. I know what he was trying to accomplish by putting Buffy out of her element (high school versus college) but Sunday was just the wrong character to offer up a butt-kicking to Buffy, who had already defeated a Master vampire and a near-immortal.
Love Buffy, have watched all 7 seasons dvd. Just finished season 3 of Angel and am going to start season 4 tonight.
i just saw the cathy episode yesterday or the day before on tv.

<--------------- Huge Buffy and Angel fan here.
David Boreanaz!! Dream man!!
I'm not an expert, but a fan.
I started watching because of the musical ep. My friend gave me the CD and I loved it!
And I think Giles is incredibly hot...always nice to watch.
season one- eh
season two- pretty good
season three- rock n' roll
season four- heating up
season five- personal favourite, stand out
season six- excellent but not as good as five
season seven- started up good, ended up with wtf?
i like five the best because it was, for the first time, very serious and dark while still maintaining the humourous aspect that makes it buffy. the balance was perfect. plus, we saw a lot of tara (yay!) and finally saw willow and tara kiss, even if it was under depressing circumstances (joyce dying, an episode that always makes me teary). glory was both scary and halarious, i thought she was a great vilian. i do hate dawn, but i can over look that.
the brilliant thing about six was its realism. a super hero has to get a job an a burger joint? child protective services comes to visit? very well done. i also really enjoyed the relationship with spike- it was pure lust, pure physical attraction/aggression, and nothing else. when the house colapses as they have sex? awesome! the only thing i didn't like about six was tara dying, and willows drug addiction (okay, majik addiction). both just made me too sad. however, the season finalle was brilliant, with xander finally saving the day. the yellow crayon bit? tears! also the wedding that never was with him an anya, that episode is SUPER sad. oy. also, i disagree with the idea that anya was just a cordi replacement. anya was twice as halarious as cordi, with her wry and too-close-for-comfort observations on humans and american culture. cordi was funny, but not anya funny. the bunny-phobia, classic. "she died saving my life." "that's my girl, always doing the stupid thing."
what i didn't like about seven was the potentials- they were all potentially annoying and two-demensional. i wanted them all to die. kennedy was no tara replacement, although it was great to finally get to *see* willow get laid instead of the wink wink nudge nudge of seasons past. parts of this season were very clever and other parts... eh not so much.
favourite villian- i'm going to have to third the vote for Dru. i was scared *and* seduced! angel was great as a bad guy but tiff said no protagonists as bad guys so never mind.
favourite line- i have a favourite line for every episode!
i reccomend buffyguide.com for all your buffy needs!
are you kidding me? the first three were the best... buffy and angel... need i say more? season five with dawn was the worst. she was annoying. not really a tara fan either. she whined a lot. six was good... seven was ok. four was eh... riley was filler... buffy needed a man cause angel had just left and riley was used til they thought up the spike thing.
