The paperwork I have to fill out just to show that I have earned no taxable income is stupid. FATCA went into effect as of April here, so we have more paperwork to fill out for the bank and the bank has a TON of paperwork to fill out for each American they have accounts with. Of course, they all have to be done in English. Several banks are refusing to work with American citizens, even if they have dual citizenship. We also have to show all of The Swede's income because if there could be something that's taxed differently in the US, they could take out taxes since we share accounts. She's never lived in the US and our marriage isn't even recognized in my home state... 

 

I HATE TAX CRAP.

I'll be signing over my not-too-shabby refunds to an HVAC company for a shiny new furnace and air conditioner -- in a dark, damp, basement -- where nobody will see it.
I'd rather have a new master bath.

In other related news ... the Gaz's 4.5 million dollar estate finally sold; for 1.2 mil. Ouch! At least he's still got the Turtle Bay penthouse. And, the love of life ex's house just sold in a week; for $100 grand less than he had in it. Real estate karma, baby!

I still need to do taxes for my mom and the estate.  I'm gonna get hit I know, but it took so long for me to get all the paperwork needed (some customer service reps are just miserable people) and then her accountant was slammed.  I figure she's dead already so what can they really do?  I'll finish in the next week or so and assess the damage.  

and the house still sits.... but yay for spring!

Mooney - I have to one up you! 5 months mortgages.  So many reasons for the hit - perfect tax nightmare!  Oh well, all are now paid!

Damn it! Clear skies at night, so the signal got crossed with searchlights from a movie premiere down the street. *sigh*

 

And I missed Addy's B'day...

That gets me time in the naughty corner unless I can break a record for cake baking by setting my oven to turn back time!

It is the start of hay fever! I took a benadryl last night!  Itchy eyes!

I ended up taking two Benedryl tablets last night. I hate doing that because I feel fuzzy the next morning and no amount of coffee helps.

I also hate it but it absolutely stops any allegery symptoms! I only take one. Two knocks me out like it does you.  Claritin alters my mood and the other "non-drowsy" make me sleepy and useless.

I have to double up my Claritin this time of year. We're surrounded by farmland and I am certain I am allergic to what they plant, despite it rotating every year. o_O
