Tink, I'm loving watching Season 2 on the tv. I intensely dislike watching any shows on a computer screen, and only do it when I absolutely have no choice. But thanks so much for the use of your Netflix.

Morning peeps! I am exhausted from the weekend! Cleaning all day Saturday and food shopping very late Saturday night. Up early yesterday cooking. Big pot of Sunday gravy with meatballs, sausage and spare ribs. I made Italian egg rolls for the first time and they were a hit! Had lots of laughs with my cousin, his wife and their kids. Throw in my kid brother for an hour and the day was complete!
Thanks Poddie and Happy St. Joseph's day to all of you. Thanks for the St. Joseph's pastry Moony.
I just posted a long greeting - and BWW froze up on me
So, I'll just say hi, and happy Monday.
Hey there my favorite grown ups!
My dearest friend and one of the most amazing women on the planet,(a speech and mass com teacher who used to be my speech and debate coach and drama teacher) is coming to NYC for the first time with some girlfriends this summer. They are staying in Times Square, going to see Book of Mormon and do touristy things. What would you absolutely tell them not to miss? Where would you tell them to try to eat? They aren't all loaded, but this is a girls weekend (and the first time she has done anything like this since her teenage daughter died two years ago), so they want to live a little. I figured it was easiest to ask the experts. lol

What fun for your friend!
My favorite dinner site in that area is Angus MacIndoe. The best breakfast buffet there is at Pigalle (at least on the weekend).
Favorite touristy things to do: the Met, MOMA, 9/11 Memorial (with a stop in St. Paul's, Ellis Island, a stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge.
A bit pricey, but one of the nicest mornings I ever spent in NYC was a champagne brunch 3 hour cruise around Manhattan (champagne brunch - guess who I was with?).
NOTE TO TINK: I sent you my cell# on Facebook.

Addy, this site is very strange lately (and not just Boobs)
Crappy Monday! We have guests for the next week and we spent hours scrubbing the house this weekend. Most excellent party on Saturday!
Sometimes you can find discounts on those cruises. If I get any emails for them I will forward themn to you, JG2. You want the one that passes The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge

I need to go again. All the great photos I took that day were on my old cellphone, which is long-gone.
I see it offered frequently on Goldstar. Going through them, which I think Boobs did that time, cost isn't too bad.

That was such a great cruise! We should do it again!
(And I frequently see it offered on Goldstar)
I took my sister and her family on it a year ago, and they loved it, too.
JG2 - Moony gave you all good ideas. Another restaurant suggestion is the Landmarc, in the Time Warner Center. Try to get a table near the window overlooking the corner of Central Park. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, they do a good job at a reasonable price.
They should also just plan to WALK. Walk, walk, walk. Especially throughout Central Park. They can get a CP guide, to make sure they go past all of the spots of note.
NYC Access is a good guide-book, that breaks down all of the neighborhoods.
I don't know what their taste in shows is, but, for the polar opposite of BOM, I am still on a high from seeing 'ONCE' last night. A beautifully crafted performance, that seems to just float upon the stage. I loved it. (But recognize, it's not a typical song-and-dance Broadway musical).
I'll put my thinking cap on for other ideas.
Ooh! A walk on the High Line is a great way to stroll through a wonderful part of Manhattan.
I highly recommend it!
Another date tonight! Free two-stepping lessons at Charlie's in Chicago (gay C&W bar). Then we're going to see WindyCityActor's play next Sunday. So far, so good...
These are such great suggestions! I am happily passing them along. I think she would LOVE Once, so I will suggest that, too. Thank you so much, guys!
PLL? A? I'm a'fused ... I guess I don't watch as much tv as I claim. Tonight is SyFy Being Human before *SMASH* for me. I hope the latter does more to reel me in, I'm getting bored.
Our weather is friggin' nuts ... we go from sun, to wind, to sun and wind, to mid-40s, to overnight snow ... I am so ready for summer to arrive.
I'm seriously pondering a subscription to B'way in Seattle next year - Book of Mormom, Fela!, War Horse, and Flashdance! (Sister Act is also in there.) Wicked is an added bonus. I also need to start thinking when I'm going back east again ...
Just got my student evaluations from last fall: a cumulative average of 5.8 (out of 6.0).
The comments were particularly fascinating: three students drew little hearts in place of words. I'm touched, amused, and a little horrified.

Awwww...Deet, that's so sweet. I gather the hearts were calculated as 6s?
Got 4 hours of sleeo last night. This better be an easy day. Got to bed @ midnight, then fierce thunderstorms started @ 4:15am. They didn't let up until 6:00am. I should have gotten up and watched PLL (Pretty Little Liars, DD). I'm on my third mug of cooffe. It's not going to be pretty when the caffeine wears off.
I see the caffeine helps your typing, Moony. Or is cooffe a special Dutch blend? Or perhaps it's the lack of sleeo (I don't even want to speculate what that's code for.)
Yes, you and girly need to watch the episode so I have someone to discuss it with!!!
Morning!
D2 - that's awesome!!
DD - I have Being Human recorded.

Hee hee - I made three corrections before hitting 'send'. But, yeah, let's hope it's the caffeine.
Tink - thanks for the text last night. I have to say (without a spoiler for Girly) that I'm a bit disappointed by the reveal. That's who it was in the book and I had hoped that they would go in a different direction. Hubby told me about the very last scene and all I can say is, "AGAIN?!?"
yeah, I had a feeling it would either be that person because of the books, or the other main suspect to be different. I mean they had to do that ending or otherwise how does the show do more seasons? (in 2.5 months from now!).
Still not liking your boy's story line. But then again, he wouldn't be on the show without it. I was shocked to see so many polls yesterday that had him as the #1 suspect. It never even crossed my mind.
*sigh*
Another show I now have to follow.

Yeah, I knew it wasn't him - because he told me it wasn't him (he wasn't allowed to say who it was, though). I had my money on someone else. I think his storyline is going nowhere, but they signed him to 19 episodes (out of 22) for the upcoming season.
