Afternoon all. Can I park here for a while.
DD that's a bummer about the car. I've had a car radio/stereo stolen twice. The second one was within days of the first one being replaced. The insurance company loved me that year. The thing that got me at the time was you call the police is that they took all the information over the phone and that was about it - not that they don't have more important things to do, but at the time I was surprised about how trivial it all seemed to them. Exam stress at the time didn't help.
Kansas!!!
I know, they pretty much made it clear they are not looking for my car. It's pretty much when the car is parked ilegally, stopped for another reason, or someone calls it in when they find them. But they're not actively looking for them. That's why I've emailed everyone I know in the area, posted it on my myspace and also on craigslist. Figured someone might spot it before the police.

Kansas - I'm just remembering our little Sheltie that we had to put down last weekend
Hope you are well!

Thanks, Kansas - but, life goes on, as it always does - and there'll be something ELSE to deal with right around the corner
Yes life goes on, but losing a member of one's family is never easy. She? was a beautiful dog.
Kansas... long time.
I was reading 'Marley & Me' this weekend. For anyone who has ever loved a pet, it's a must-read. I was sobbing out loud at the end. But, in a good way. Remembering how much our pets were loved.
DG, so sorry. What a beautiful dog.
DD, sorry to hear about your car. That certainly sucks, doesn't it?

The one we lost was our little boy, Teddy - and we still have our pretty girl, Christy (who keeps looking at me like, "WHAT is going on?!?")
He was a pretty little boy
Addy - I'll be looking for that book . . .
And it's nice to see the Baileys together!
Addy sighting!
It's a pain, dottie. But... it's just a car, and thanfully there was nothing of value inside. The insurance adjuster has been very nice.
I still tear up over my childhood dog...
A brief excerpt from the book. The final essay 'Saying Farewell to a Faithful Pal':
"A person can learn a lot from a dog, even a loopy one like ours.
Marley taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart. He taught me to appreciate the simple things - a walk in the woods, a fresh snowfall, a nap in a shaft of winter sunlight. And as he grew old and achy, he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity.
Mostly, he taught me about friendship and selflessness and, above all else, unwavering loyalty."
...be sure to have a box of tissues ready when you read the book!
There is no way I can read that book.
I sobbed. But I loved it.
