Clay should never put a hand on a fully made-up face. How unprofessional can you get?
ok, so i just watched the clip of this incident and, to me, it just seems like everyones making a big deal out of aomething really small. but thats me. haha. and im sry if this was already discussed, i didnt have time to read through all the posts, but did anyone else see on the AMA's last night, i forget who came out with clay, but they put their hand over his mouth. it seems to me that its just getting out of hand

Is this true? Is this what most people thought? I had no idea about this until just now. If so, was Ripa worried that Clay has been fisting someone before the show? Was Gelman involved?
"Most people, including Rosie O'Donnell assumed that Ripa was referring to Aiken's alleged penchant for "fisting" men... "
kelly was right. rosie was wrong.

Don't people recognize that what Ripa said was a classic masturbation joke? If a man puts his hand anywhere, it's a pretty good guess that he had probably flogged the bishop at some point before. Gay, straight, bi, questioning, it doesn't matter. One only hopes that he has washed his hands after.
I believe Clay still stands behind the statement from his early post-Idol days: "Ah cain't be gay, ahm a Christian!" [twinkle]
That's what I said, Namo!

I don't think Christians masturbate either.
and yet rosie did NOT pick up on clay aiken's line: "the desk is gonna be all sticky; i'm really gonna have a problem with that."
obviously he is referring to certain intimate acts and the aftermath. obviously.
me thinks the lady (clay, not rosie) doth protest too much.
robbo, you just don't understand the gay struggle!
I just rewatched on Perezhilton. Kelly used the word "Honey" at the end of her statement, that's what sealed the deal for me.
the gay struggle? is that another masturbation crack?
Noboday puts their hand over my mouth except my lover, and...
"Nobody puts Baby in a corner!!"
Did anyone watch today's VIEW? What happened? Did they bring back the issue?

Didn't catch The View today, but Good Morning America did a piece on it. They pretty much skewered Rosie for putting Clay's sexuality in the forefront, considering that he doesn't talk about it. They also had a clip of last night's AMAs where Clay and Tori Spelling made fun of the incident.
Even Regis this morning was making fun of it. He was talking about Tom Cruise's height, the crowd woo-ed, and Regis responded with "I guess I'll apologize, we don't need another feud around here." Later on in the segment, he had an oxygen can to sniff from (you had to see the show to get why it was there). Kelly was visibly uncomfortable when he sprayed it in her mouth, considering his hand was touching the the area where the oxygen comes out.
well i missed regis and kelly this morning, and i missed the first few min of the view, but from when i turned it on, they didnt mention anything of it, i may have missed that though. idk
Ok, I just watched the video. This has blown WAY out of proportion. If it just stayed with the Regis and Kelly show, it would have blown over like nothing happened . . . but since Rosie made such a big deal and then Kelly called in, it got bigger than it really needed to be. WHO CARES that he did this? There are more important things that MSN and such needs to be covering, than whether or not Kelly's remark is homophobic.

Barbara mentioned it on the View this morning. She said that Rosie spoke to Kelly after the show (yesterday) and all was well. Rosie said that she also spoke to Clay yesterday, and that she and Clay are good friends and speak on the phone regularly.

So...was Rosie on the show this morning? It sounds like Babs is doing PR work for Rosie there.
cheezedoole: "Babs" is and always will be STREISAND. "Old Hag" is WALTERS. Don't you forget it!

Yeah, Rosie was there. Apparently, right before the show started, Barbara told Rosie, "I'm opening the show today!"

This could be a way that ABC can get rid of Rosie too - I bet they are going broke with all the crap she is giving away.
ABC would be crazy to get rid of her. Ratings are up up up and the "giveaways" are part of her contract. Wouldn't matter, anyway, the giveaways aren't THAT expensive for the TV show.
Besides, this is no basis to terminate Rosie. The producers are the ones who decided to put Kelly Ripa on the air via phone. Not Rosie.

Rosie even said she wouldn't have put Kelly on the air like that; she would have preferred to wait until after the show.
How much of the stuff she gives away do they actually have to pay for. I was always under the impression that most of the items were given to them. They are being promoted, after all.

Yes - the producers. To start some sort of conflict. This has been a much bigger hoopla than when they fired Starr and Debbie - so **** can and does happen. Foolish or not - it could happen.
Those "give-aways" don't cost ABC anything. I think most of the vendors have to put up charity money as well as supply the audience with items. ABC does not pay for that.
The Broadway show tickets are pretty cool, it's an amazing way to advertise.
