Two new dads are a viral sensation on the internet after photographer Lindsay Foster shared photos of them cradling their son Milo moments after he was born via a surrogate mother.
Wrote Foster of the photos, which were shared on June 27:
"Words can not tell you how wonderful it was to witness this amazing moment in time. But I am VERY hopeful that these images can make you feel the deep LOVE and admiration that everyone felt for this surrogate mom and the baby's new parents. These Daddies will most certainly be two amazing parents. I look at these pictures and I immediately tear up."
I look at these pictures and I immediately think "Don't these queens own shirts?"
I mean really- half naked in the delivery room?
They are practicing skin to skin contact, which is a really important part of the bonding process for a newborn and parent. Placing a naked baby against a parent's bare chest provides warmth and comfort and is a very primal part of the connection. Many moms do this right away in the delivery room. In our case, my wife had a c-section, so I took my daughter to the recovery room, where she slept against my skin. My wife was able to do skin to skin when she was brought to the room. In this case, both dads were able to have that experience with their newborn in the delivery room. It's a good thing they are doing.

JerseyGirl2, Thank you for the explanation. However, Joe's comment about the shirts was still funny.
I'm glad JerseyGirl said that because when I saw these pictures last week, my reaction was the same. I just couldn't take them seriously.
I have seen so many people make the same comments all over the net. They think it's a "gay" thing. lol It's really popular with those who want a more natural birth experience. They strongly encourage it here.

Everyone was fully dressed when I was born and I turned out just fine.

Maybe if I had baby of my own I wouldn't get so emotional. I could foist all my hopes and dreams onto him and be happy forever! I'm going to take my shirt off and head to the hospital. There has to be an unattended newborn lying around.
I'd imagine the hospital staff would be thrilled for you to offer your skin to skin services to the newborn babies!

Baby Mammals cling to a momma's hairy chest. I could let the child breast feed as he clutches my abundant fur.

And this thread just made the FBI watch list.
Maybe, Joe, if your stepson had had more skin to skin service you wouldn't be having the panty problem you have now?

Oh that was months ago! He's moved on and married a lovely older woman. His wife Beatrice and I laugh about it now over bingo.
Nude bingo, of course.
But do you win? Really, when BINGO was his name-o, it doesn't make you cry?
"And this thread just made the FBI watch list."
Thank u! I needed that laugh!
I just hate the pictures.
I get the bonding crap but don't get the need for the photos. Can't wait till these memes are dunzo. I get the feeling these are "out there" to boost some egos. Some day we'll get to post gay...

I'm just tired of gay dudes and babies, period. I swear every day my Facebook feed shows me another gay couple I know acquiring a kid.
You just need some of that good ol' skin to skin, Phyllis!
Gettin' stuff shoved doown you throat?
They should have just gotten completely naked, bands around the world don't wear any clothes. Neo-birthing is hilarious.
That poor baby is going to have to grow up with that picture everywhere.
