So I've been on the board for a little while now, but I'm still a bit scared to start a thread on the main board. Well, still theatre related- what are your favorite "Story" songs?
Nothing from A Chorus Line
Why from TTB
Paris Through The Window from A Class Act

"I'm a cuber, I'm a cuber, I'm a cuber, I'm a cuber, I'm a cuber, I'm a cuber. Please don't take me to the pickle farm."- Brak

hmmm... interesting topic. I'd have to pick storybook from the Scarlet Pimpernel. It's not really a story song, but at least it has the word story in the title ... plus it's just gorgeous. I get rocks thrown at me every time I mention CATS but, I love how the song "Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer" tells all about how they go out burgling every night. And "The Awful Battle of the Peekes and the Pollicles together with the Marching Song of the Pollicle Dogs" is my favorite song in the show; narrated by Munkustrap, who I hope to get to play someday. Also "Grwoltiger's Last Stand" is a story song. They're all story songs! "Over the Moon" from RENT is like a story song. It's more of a performance piece than an actual song, but it works. "Nothing" has for a long time been a favorite. But with my daughter getting married next Saturday, "Slipping Through My Fingers" from Mamma Mia has had a special spot for the past few months. This is a great first question!! Good Job!

"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien
