The artistic director at my theater company and my mentor just resigned because of cancer. I don't know what to think of that
I'm sorry neddy.
I feel my life has hit a new low. It's Friday night, I'm at home doing laundry, and my parents and their friends are mocking me. I heard them talk about my friends who just got engaged, and I know my mom told them that the boy I liked just turned me down. It's sad when your parents make you feel like a pathetic loser.
I wish someone else would brush my teeth for me. While I lie asleep in bed, preferably.
That really sucks, Sarah. I hope things improve.
I feel very boring. Bored, yes, but also like... I haven't been a very fun person to talk to lately, which I realize but can't do anything about? I guess I'll write it off to life not providing very much that's conversation-worthy at the moment.
I'm going to NYC in January. I get to see the shows I really wanted to. I should be excited, right?
It's not so exciting when some of your friends are absorbed in their world and you don't think you'll be able to see them.
I have a seven page paper to do. In the subject I hate most. Why the hell am I an officer in Science Club if I hate science?
I want to sleep for a day or two.
I really don't have anything to post here. I just want the first four post everyone to see when the wake-up belong to me.
Dang! These boards are slow today. I posted something on the main boards about 10 minutes ago and it's still the first topic there. That's slow for these boards!
I'm really excited for my grandma's humongous birthday party because all my family will be there. Our family parties are crazy. I'm also excited to go skiing for the first time on Sunday! Woohoo
My mom is watching Growing Up Gotti. Oy.

Double Post- but I will make use of it.
I am watching President Gerald Fords burial on TV right now

I'm ready to go home now.
Considering he's not getting buried until later this week, that's quite a feat, neddyfrank.
I'm watching Sideways. I don't understand why this movie was such a big deal.

Sorry it wasn't the burial- it was his body arriving at the Capitol
I didn't get that one, either, skittles. Nor the incredible acting appeal of Sandra Oh.

I wasn't a big fan of Sideways, either. I can just imagine the critics sipping wine and discussing how "profound" the movie is.
My mother bought The Scout for me years ago because it was an on-sale baseball movie. I'm finally watching it. It's awful. I also went to The Holiday earlier tonight and that was awful. And while Marie Antoinette on Friday wasn't awful, I wasn't overly impressed, either.
The previews for Marie Antoinette were SO bizarre and completely turned me off the movie. Did the film use the modern music and "edgy" graphics? That really annoys me.
Edit: I sound so negative about everything tonight! I do like some things, I promise.

I'm not sure about the graphics, but the movie definitely used modern music. It actually didn't bother me until I realized the effect was being so often - I felt like saying, "Okay, I get it, you're being 'edgy' and using modern music juxtaposed against a historical fiction film." I didn't see the real need for it.
When I initially walked out of the theater, I felt as if I didn't care for it at all. In retrospect, I think the film did a respectable job at showing the audience Marie Antoinette's life (at least as imagined by the original book writer/filmmakers) strictly from her perspective - for instance, the bread riots truly sneak up on the viewer because they "snuck up" on Marie as well. It bothered me that seemingly important subplots were explored and then quickly dropped, but again, this technique works when one views the movie exclusively from Marie's viewpoint. The main problem I had with the film was that I didn't feel sympathetic toward Marie for most of the movie - perhaps that was Coppola's intent, but I think the film would have functioned better if she was portrayed in more of a sympathetic light.
Wow, that was a bit too lengthy for the banal thread!

I finished my paper today. Chyeah.
I finished the movie. I hated it. And what a pathetic ending.
I think there's something sad about the fact that I'm wearing an over sized t-shirt, red velor (how do you spell that?) pants, and my new red stiletto fancy shoes.
They're pretty.
why do I wake up EVERY damn day at the crack of dawn?
I saw Crash last night and then dreamed about fires and feeding wild animals, like pandas.
Today is my dad'd birthday. He's old.
