Another fatal shooting of a Minneapolis protester by a Federal agent.  The resident BWW MAGAts here must be clinking their champagne glasses.

THERE  IS  NO  REASON  FOR  THE  FEDERAL  GOVERNMENT  TO  OCCUPY  THE  STATE  OF  MINNESOTA

MAGAts will be silent about it of course because they're racist, asinine cowards. Hopefully they will meet the same fate since they think it's perfectly acceptable for masked, nameless Nazis to break into a house in the middle of the night to shoot families in the face, and laugh about it. Fingers crossed.

Hope you're well and your health is good, HG heart

Oh they won't be silent, they will be out there loudly being boot lockers and profess how the man absolutely deserved to be shot 10 times after they took his (legally carried) gun from his waist.

There are lots of liberals who have said in the past that they think that people who carry guns in public should be arrested and thrown in cages. Those liberals are very much part of the problem we're seeing now.

That... literally has nothing to do with anything? Gun laws have been virtually unchanged for over 20 years? And Alex's gun clearly didn't save him here and was a contributing factor to his death (through ICE incompetence). I absolutely wish he was able to defend himself with his gun in this situation, but it does illustrate how little effectiveness that actually holds in situations where you'd actually need it vs. Looking like a tough guy pulling it when you don't need it.

Shortly after federal agents murdered Mr. Pretti Saturday morning, the Department of Homeland Security began to run with the story that the dead man had been armed and dangerous. He had a gun, DHS said. (A Bellingcat analysis of the video concludes that Pretti was unarmed when he was shot.) He had approached the agents holding the gun, DHS said. (He was holding a phone, The New York Times reports.) Pretti died on his knees, surrounded by armed Border Patrol agents, with shot after shot unloaded in his direction.

Whats also insane is that they rushed to get the picture of the gun out to the public so quickly instead of reviewing the videos first that you can literally see the identifying marks from that gun on the gun that the agent ran off with before he was shot...

They couldn't even get a story straight before trying to rush out in front of it...

Exactly, and they honestly think people will buy it. They think everyone is as stupid as their Cult members, apparently. Notice how the C*nty Magats are completely silent on BWW today about this and want to deflect? Typical cowardly, amusing Nazi behavior.

Every day that passes I revile Trump voters more and more. You can claim ignorance in 2016, but not in 2024. This is what you wanted, what you voted for, and what you have inflicted upon the rest of us. SHAME.

"rare political statement"

Why are they rare? Why doesn't he use whatever politcal capital he has and fight back? I don't get why just because he has completed his two terms he feels he needs to stay silent. That might be the precedent of past presidents out of deference to the current holder, but this is not a normal situation. Trump doesn't give a fck about respect, why should we.

ICE is Trump's little army. MAGAs are going to defend them and everything they do, even if it's killing innocent protesters. There are MAGAs posting clips of ICE killing protesters, saying ICE are just getting started. Odds are a lot of these newly, poorly trained ICE agents are former J6 insurrectionists and Proud Boys doing their part to help their orange king return this country to a White, Christian nation again.

Pretty rich coming from a president who gave Bush Jr's little project steroids.  Corporate Dems are just as much to blame for this catastrophe as Republicans.

Please note how they blanch when the phrase "Abolish ICE" is mentioned.  Do idiots like Newsom, Booker, Jeffries, and Schumer really think that "more training and body cameras" will solve the problem?

Anyways, yes...bravo to the brave citizens of Minnesota for standing up.  They are a model of courage in a country run by cowards.

Solve the problem? No, but in re: to both training, and in particular required use of body cameras, accountability has a higher potential to improve. Additionally, any methods of anonymity (i.e., masks) needs to be completely prohibited.

ICE isn't going away, nor should they. Before they were radicalized by Trump, with his self-serving, white supremacist, megalomaniac ideologies, they served a legitimate (and some would say necessary) purpose.

Since it's not reasonable to consider eliminating them, the only other option is to work towards restoring their purpose as a legitimate law enforcement agency instead of being the radicalized, anonymous, untrained goon squad of Proud Boys - with no (or few) methods for accountability.

there's no requirements to be an ICE agent. No prerequisites, no background checks, and the orange turd in the White House has given them immunity. This will continue to happen over and over again and nothing will change. Keep on protesting!

Alex Pretti, an American Hero, was an ICU Nurse at a Veteran's Hospital. He devoted his entire life to helping people, which is what he was doing when he was brutally murdered by Domestic Terrorists. Here he is doing what he does best, which is spreading peace, light, and love to a final salute to a Veteran who was lost. Rest in Paradise, Alex.

And the guy who shot Renee Good who was HOLDING A CAMERA THE WHOLE TIME??  And the fact that BODY CAMERAS CAN BE TURNED OFF?  Wake up, man!

Eliminating them is completely reasonable and is definitely the moderate response at this point.  You want Brownshirt-lite, go vote MAGA.

The video that most clearly disproves the lies told about about Renee Good's alleged use of her vehicle as a weapon is the one that came from the murderer's camera. The camera is directed specifically at Good. It clearly shows her non-antagonistic demeanor, as well as (although brief - still evident) her attempt to steer the vehicle AWAY FROM (to her right) the murderer. No other video shows Good's specific behavior and demeanor with that level of clarity.

It also shows, without question, that the murderer did not follow expected DOJ guidance re: gunfire at vehicles, use of deadly force to arrest someone or to disable a fleeing vehicle if the person does not pose an immediate threat. I've also seen reports questioning whether/not is is acceptable practice for the murderer to have placed himself directly in front of Good's vehicle.

Had the murderer's camera been a body cam, the murderer would not have been able to raise the camera towards the sky at the moment he fired on Good (which basically concealed his crime from his camera).

The murderer's video also captures the voice of someone shouting a derogatory epithet at Good. In a thorough investigation, that voice could either be identified/matched to a specific agent, or clear any of the agents who were close enough to the murderer's phone to be recorded with that level of clarity.

BUT... we know there will not be a fair or thorough investigation because:

Doubly tragic re: Good's murder is the fact that it has been decided that the state of MN will not be allowed to conduct their own investigation into her murder. The obvious evidence that the Federal investigation will not be conducted fairly are the preconceived "verdicts" publicly announced by Krusty Gnome and other MAGAts.

So, for me, anyone who suggests action that creates more options for accountability re: Trump's murder squad, I'm completely in favor of it.

As for an ICE agent that would choose to turn off their body cam, or never turn it on (should it be a requirement to have it on), that action would certainly increase suspicion on the agent.

Bovino and some agents are reportedly leaving Minneapolis. Trump is sending Tom Homan in Bovino's stead. For me, I'm cautious re: whether the news of Bovino and agents' departure should be interpreted as good or bad - especially given how corrupt Homan is.
