Wow! Had she been ill, or is this sudden?
I'm shocked.
Oh! This is awful news...how sad...
I am flipping around trying to find news. They just had her picture up on the local NBC news, but I didn't catch the reason.
I'm doing the same...
MSNBC is reporting she died of cancer at 73.
I didn't know she was sick.
So sad.

No way!
Ok... I'm about to loose it... this is very, very sad indeed.
Truly sad news.

I'm really sorry to nitpick like this, but I'm pretty sure her first name is spelled with an "e" at the end.
What terrible news.

DD, I love the new avatar.
It's all about her today. My thoughts are with Mel and their families...
Beave changed his avatar as well...
Hard to believe.

It was a good day until now.
My mom looked like her and I always loved her.

My favorite actress. This makes me very sad.
Anne Sullivan. The mother in Torch Song. Two favorites, but so many others. Indelible. Such humor. So much depth.

She and Mel Brooks were at the same performance of LA CAGE that my friend and I were at in January. She looked very small and frail. Quite frankly, I didn't recognize her until someone called her to my attention.
An incredible loss. Rest in peace Anne Bancroft.
She was brilliant. Remember the opening song in TO BE OR NOT TO BE? And there is my favorite of them all - GARBO TALKS!
