I don't see why you should get to serve only 10% of your sentence if you're a low-level offender. Her sentence was only 45 days; that's a completely reasonable amount of time for punishment. Only making her stay 4 days is ridiculous. It's not often I agree with Al Sharpton, but if it were a poor black woman that had these charges, she would serve the full 45 days without question or objection- low level offender or not.

I was glad when I heard this. She deserves the same treatment as anyone else with as a DUI.

For all of you who are complaining that Paris is being made an example out of, well she did that to herself. She was trying to use her fame and money to get her out of the situation in the first place (with her mom contacting Governor Arnold), so it just backfired. With all the times she keeps trying to tell people she's a role model for little girls, well, what a better way to be their role model than to be an example of "when you do the crime, you do the time."

I can't believe that no one has considered that maybe Paris' "deterioration" is a little thing known as withdrawl symptons.
I mean did you see her shaking? Christ get this girl a drink and some blow and she'll be good to go.

here's an interesting article that lays out the entirety of the paris legal saga, how she got to be in this predicament.

to those who think she's being made an example of i ask: if joe schmoe violated probation and was nailed for driving with a suspended license twice within a two months after getting a dui, would you expect that he'd be free to get behind the wheel of a car a few days after getting busted again in the process violating the probation he'd been sentenced to already?

lock her up and throw away the key for the safety of the rest of the folks on the road.

I think this may have to be my last Paris Hilton post for a while, but...does anyone else think she looks so much better in the 'fresh out of jail' photos than she ever has before? With a real smile, and about 95% less makeup than usual? I've always found her a little odd looking, but I think the fresh out of jail look is her best look yet.

Yeah, it looks like jail really f*cked her up bad. Now I see what all the fuss was about. Sure makes me scared to commit any offenses. They might as well show her behind bars getting a manicure and sipping champagne as the Pussycat Dolls, dressed in skimpy tight orange prison attire, serenade the other inmates with a private perfomance of "Don't Cha" in the background.

Her life sucks so bad, y'all.
