Is anyone else watching Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's performace? What a production! I've never seen such an elaborate set for an awards show performance. Not sure if I like it...doesn't help that Marc sings a thousand times better than his wife...but she could buy and sell my town, so I shan't say anything.
How I LOATHE that woman....
QM
Did they seem to have love for each other?
I don't know if it was love...or the fact that they could see their own reflections in each other's eyes.
Wow...she was...horrible. Seriously, the worst I've ever seen her do...or any "singer" on the Grammy's for that matter
I agree...tacky, tacky, tacky!
Oh please. She didn't sound half bad at all. She obviously dosen't have a strong voice, but she isn't terrible. Atleast she takes the chance of singing live, unlike other popstars like Britney. Jennifer also had some vocal training recently. I dont think shes half bad, smooth & sweet voice.
QM, my feelings exactly! UGH!

What i like about her is that she is very hardworking, and truly a gifted dancer. Yes, she's gained the diva attitude along the way, but whatever.

I thought she did pretty good actually. It's dumb to say she did bad just because you don't like her as a person.
I concur, jwei. She may not be the best singer (or actor for that matter) but she's worked a lot harder to get where she is than many of those talentless starlets have.
I am glad some people agree with me. Yes, she might've gained a diva attitude, but I still think she is a good person. I have seen some interviews where she is very genuine. She also has had some good acting moments (Enough- great movie) The song she recorded for the film "Alive" which she co wrote with her ex husband is actually a GREAT song. She actually sings a beautiful melody with a full orchestra.
I just don't like how people LOVE to hate this woman.

I completely agree. I'm not saying this is the reason why some of you hate her, but people need to get over the fact that she's been married 3 times. People make mistakes.

Thank you. I am so glad someone finally agrees with me. I much rather listen to a Jennifer Lopez album over a Britney Spears album anyday. Atleast Jennifer takes part in the writing of a lot of her songs. I'm glad Jennifer took the risk tonight of singing live (unlike others that have performed).. she was in tune for the most part, and sounded good.

Yeah I thought she did well, she got a little sharp at times, and I was praying for vibrato. Other than that lol, it was actually very decent.
I'm not a J.Lo hater at all, and I usually like her performances, but I wasn't too thrilled with the one tonight. Vocally, she wasn't horrible to start but started to slip at the end. She looked beautiful though. I'm missing the Jenny From The Block days! Looking forward to her next album still!
she wasn't bad at all....people just want to hate her because they're simply envious. she worked damned hard to get to where she is today. she may not have a colaratura soprano voice or scream, excuse me, "belt" out notes but her voice serves the purpose for what she records which are pop/dance songs.
i would respect people's opinions on this board more if they back up their statements with logical reasons as to their likes or dislikes of a certain performer. stating "i hate that woman" as one ignorant poster did on this thread doesn't cut it. back your statement up or shut the fvck up is what i say.
hate is a very strong word and if she didn't do anything personally to you then there should be no reason for you to hate her unless you're just some talentless jealous cow who wishes you were as famous as she is.

Marquise, I assume you meant me with your post ... although I never used the word 'hate' and really don't appreciate your hostile tone towards me, so if you excuse me but I might not come across as very friendly myself now.
I loathe Jennifer Lopez for the following reasons:
1) I have had the 'pleasure' of dealing with this woman on a 'professional' level (due to my work). To say she's a diva, is the understatement of the century. She is insane.
2) Songs like 'Jenny From The Block' make me want to puke. We all know that's a pile of cr*p.
3) I personally loathe anyone who thinks it's fashionable to wear fur coats.
Just a few points...
Also, it always cracks me up when ignorant people say cr*p like 'oh, you must be jealous of her' because I don't like her. If this was the case I'd hate people like CZJ for her beauty, actresses such as Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet for their acting abilities and a lot more talented people but I don't!
So stop crying about the fact that there are some people who don't like Ms Lopez. I have my reasons, not matter how 'invalid' they might be to you.
ETA: And if I just want to put up a statement about loathing anything or anyone without elaborating on it in the future, you better get over it as my reasons are none of your business.

I've also dealt with her professionally, QM, and must agree about the diva part. Also the fur coats.
She's a muppet, Chloe!
QM
I'll agree with that too, but now I'm confused about your definition of a muppet, since I've only you seen you apply the term to overly squealy fangirls in the past.
That's the perfect definition, Chloe *writes it down for future reference*
I occasionally refer to people as muppets when they've lost their marbles and are insane. Those people can be muppets too, different ones, but still muppets!
Unfortunately, there are too many of those around at the moment.

She seemed nervous, perhaps about the duet, about that being their first major public performance together, in front of the creme de la creme of the industry. Perhaps because the overcooked concept for the number felt out of synch with both stage personnas.
Did anyone else think the set and costumes were more SNL skit than Grammy worthy? There was something kitsch and clumsy about the designs, all the brocade ... And their trying to maneuver around a big bed. Silly. Plus, her gown looked like an overstated Mackie, and didn't come across as elegant; just glittering.
Campy or not, it was hugely distracting. I think, had both been in solid colors and simply done the song in a pool of light, we would've not only bought the number, but also listened to it with different ears. Less would've been more.
