Jennifer is Ryan Seacrest show Now. She had tears when she spoke about her friendship with George. I liked her from the beginning and she just got better and better. I hope we will see more of her in the future.
She said one of her goals is to do Dreamgirls..... WOW!!!!!
She would be gr8.

I am still so shocked that Jennifer got voted off!! Out of Latoya, Jennifer & Fantasia- Fantasia should have been the one to go. Shes annoying and to full of herself. If she wins this competition it will be a waste. John Stevens should have also been gone long ago! Anyway people should be voting for the talent!!

"Although I agree that Jennifer should have not been booted off (I'm from Chicago myself), the name of the show is "American Idol" not "The Best Singer."
I disagree with that. They would have more contests other than singing if they were not looking for the best singer. The show's concept is to find the best singer. In this case, American Idol=Great Singer.

I agree with BwayTheatre11. There are(or were) tons of shows about people who were competing to be the best-looking (therefore we have all the beauty pageants), or things like that. This is definately a "best singer" show, because they all have to SING, and that's the concept of the whole show.
Though, in some cases, this show is a popularity contest. Why Jon Stevens hasn't been voted off is beyond me...

John Steven's version of the song Mandy was HORRIBLE!!! It sounded like a young male going through puberty with a bad voice to begin with. How in the world is he still on the show?! Also one theory as to why jennifer Hudson was voted out was because she has a big fan base in chicago/illinois. And since there was that whole tornado scare here, not many people could have called in. Just a thought, but it makes sense.

Yes, this is why I am pissed! The bad singers are the ones staying. Obviously it is not John's personality or good looks that is getting him through.

so that whole idea that it's america voting on it is out the window then, what with it being fixed and all, right? because as we all know from experience, the whole world thinks exactly like we do and would never vote to get rid of someone we deem talented or vote to keep someone we deem unworthy. nope nothing like this could ever, ever happen...

I've thought it was fixed from the very beginning. If there are too many girls, then the boys stay, also the ones who are most controversial get to stay longer, etc. Whatever is good for ratings (dollars) is what the producers will put out there.
Edited to say the same thing happens on the other "reality" shows. Omarosa stayed on for the ratings, on the Bachelor and Bachelorette I believe certain people are selected and certain bits of tape are edited to create drama (ratings). These are all "shows" and are there for entertainment, not reality.

Could it be that there is a little bitty smidgen of racism going on here, too?

I think now Jennifer will have a even bigger carerre than if she would have made it to the final 3. The controversy will work in her favor.

Zola, do you mean racism here or on Idol? It's hard to say-I still wonder if Ruben really got more votes than Clay. who knows anymore what's going on there.

i felt horrible for george! how could the make him choose what group was the top 3? he looked so upset after having to do that.
anyway, i think that its rigged too. i dont think she shudda gone home. i didnt want ther to win (im routing for latoya) but she shundt have gone that soon. i also think that the other 2 in the bottom 3 dont matter. i am sure they can put people people who got more votes in the bottom 3 b/c they know they are safe. that way they know that latoya and fantasia will get more votes next week, ensuring that they will stay b/c america doesnt want to loose them like they "almost" did last week.

From the Idol webpage:
"In the round of seven, Jennifer wasn't able to handle the music of Barry Manilow. Now that we're in the round of six, who will be able to handle the music of Gloria Estefan? The rhythm is gonna get American Idol this week as the contestant take on Ms. Estefan's upbeat numbers."
Does Gloria Estefan even have 6 songs?

John Stevens will surely butcher a Gloria Estefan song. How much longer will he be able to keep in the competition?

John Stevens will definitely butcher an Estefan song. She's got millions of them, but I'm sure not one of them is something he can do any justice to! oy.

he'll sing "Words Get In The Way" or "Anything For You" as if he were Frank Sinatra and it will sound horrible and he will be voted into the top three on wednesday...

George should sing:
"1,2,3,4 come on baby say you love me, 5,6,7 times. 8,9,10,11 I'm just gonna keep on counting until you're mine."
If he sings it to Big Red, Gay Clay or Ryan, even I'll vote for him.

I have nevere been a fan of Gloria. I think she is a weak singer. And her songs are very repetitive. Like if someone got lazy and they just repeat the same lyrics over and over.

I really hope Jon Stevens goes. He is just so bad, and I don't think he can handle the songs of Gloria Estefan. It's going to be so horribly bad, that I'll be laughing through the entire thing.
