Okay so my best friend is in love with Josh Groban and we are also both huge musical theatre freaks. So of course we both love Wicked (don't hurt me) and we were listening to this one Christmas song that Josh Groban sings, its from Polar Express or something. And like the first part of it totally reminded us of Dancing Through Life from Wicked. We were like OMG he could totally play/sing Fiyero.... hehehe okay yea we r dorks. But does anyone else see that too?? Couldnt he be an awesome Fiyero?

Groban is far too talented and smart to ever get himself involved in WICKED. And even if he wanted to, he would be incredibly, terribly miscast.

nooooooo. seriously it sounds just like dancing thru life....dont believe me?? pm me and i'll send it to u
Don't make fun of Wicked.
And don't suggest that Scwartz's score sounds anything like that stuff Joshy sings.
Rebecca you are opening a can of worms here that I will not even touch with a ten foot pole.

hmmm i guess this is what i get for having a 7 week winter break and not being scheduled for work this week........ lol too much fun chris im surprised u dont wanna join in....its so the truth tho. it sounded the same
Groban's a first-rate bore onstage.
Whether or not that would make him a good fit for 'Wicked' is for others to decide
I like Wicked, I LOVE Josh Groban....the two DO not and SHOULD not mix. EVER.
Bwaysinger: Your posts never fail to amuse and trouble me. Are you joking, or are you really that dense? Or just 10 years old? I can never figure it out.
Don't make fun of WICKED. Right, okay, thanks for the advice.
Schwartz's score sounds nothing like that stuff Joshy sings. You're absolutely right! Finally, you post something of merit! The music, for the most part, that JOSHY sings and has performed makes WICKED's score look even more like a musical abortion.

and once again, you post another negative comment...

alright kiddys lets play nice here please.....for JOSHY..... lol
BSO, why must you only point out the negative posts I make? Any why only MY negative posts? Surely I'm not the only one that posts negative things. And obviously you haven't read my posts in other threads. You pick out the one post I make that's negative. And again, instead of joining in on the conversation, you jsut show how ignorant and obnoxious you are by pointing out when I type something negative. Surely everyone can tell when something is negative, we don't need you pointing it out. So sit down and explore the boards today, and find how many times I've typed something positive or indifferent vs. a negative comment. You will soon find that your little theory about my negative posts has absolutely no relevance.

i haven't seen any full on positive ones...
but it doesn't matter, i'll ignore what your write since it never really adds to the convo anyway....
as for why i didn't write anything - well, i was SO surprised by your comment i forgot what i wanted to say...

Josh Groban and Wicked, I don't think so. But he does aspire to be on Broadway. It's his one lifetime goal. He really wants to be in Sweeney Todd, since he was in it at camp as a teen and it was one of the best experiences of my life. His voice is really powerful, I could imagine him in musicals. I just listened to "Dancing Through Life"- not Josh at all, really. Great musical, great singer, but they just don't mesh.
I'm sure some producer at some point will hire Groban for a Broadway show - he's popular and would sell a lot of tickets to the midwestern housewives. Too bad he has the personality of a paper plate when he performs.
I will admit I love Groban's music, he's very talented.. but from what I understand the man cant act his way out of a paperbag.
Grobanize me anytime.
CatsNYRevival..that gave me one of the biggest laughs of my day.
"I want what you're on."
Hehehehehe...
Josh = awesome wicked = good Josh + Wicked = awesomely bad
I think Josh's talents far surpass the material that is on offer there.
But if he can't act his way out of a wet paper bag...and he's a good singer...maybe he would suit Wicked.
BSO - What do you have against me? I really don't understand. I find it very difficult to take anything that anyone with a DRACULA avatar says seriously.

i agree with you cali2colo7......grobanize me!!! lol
Wicked is weak enough as it is. DOn't make it weaker by putting that boring, emotionless Grobin in. I still don't understand why people think he is so amazing. I have never seen someone, other than Jessica Simpson, take a song and strip it of all it's emotion till it's a boring piece of Sh!t!
*tsk* rebecca. i luv ya but u make me shake my head with this one. while I respect the vocal work groban has done and I once enjoyed Wicked (to a fault) if Mr G were to ever come to Broadway, I hope he'd be in a role that would emphasize his great voice and let him hide his questionable acting. Fiyero only has the two songs and the role is so badly written, even a good actor like Norbert seems awkward in it.
Groban can sing Anatoly all day, however, I'd probably not once complain. Even if Rob Evan were in the room.
