Yeah, it's really not old enough to be a "classic" and was too widely and well-recevied to be deemed "cult."

I must say, I've fallen in love with the movie.

I saw some girls in my local mall wearing shirts that said Plastics on them.

I secretly (so, though I guess not so much anymore!) love this movie.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this movie! It was just so well written and acted that it was elevated above standard teen movie status. I love it and Tina Fey so much!

-"If you're from Africa, then why are you white?"
-"Oh my god, Karen. You can't just ask people why they're white!"

I was once part of the Plastics of Dallas, that is, until I moved. We weren't really that bitchy, just had the Best. Of everything.

STP, you may as well join them too. (www.myspace.com/seanbizzle). He's the king of the **Plastics**

I watched this on Saturday night - Love it.

I loved this movie so much more when I just thought it was Tina's idea. When I found it was once a book.. not so much.

To answer your question - yes, I believe it is a cult classic. It's smart, and funny, and the characters are so stereotypical you can't help but love them.

And just think, its Ms Lohan. I don't care what anyone says. The girl can act circles around anyone. And Rachel McAdams - she looks so different from Lisa in RED EYE, it's scary. Great make up.

How can a movie that came out a year and a half ago and grossed over a hundred million dollars worldwide be considered a cult classic?

I definitely think my great grandkids will watch this movie and love it. It's so, I dunno... The themes are universal. Everyone experiences Mean Girls.

This is Sindheim' next project actually...he is adapting it as a stage musical. Should be interesting to say the least.

I saw "Red Eye" tonight and I had my fingers crossed that she would get on the plane first and he would try to sit next to her and she would just scream, "You can't sit with me!" That's an official staple of my group. If everyone is sitting down and someone tries to squeeze their way in, someone is guaranteed to burst out, "You can't sit with us!!!"
God, we quote it, too much. For some reason, "Glen Coco, two for you, Glen Coco. You go, Glen Coco!" has even caught on. I also love to say, "My nail beds suck."

(ok, is it bad that the only reason I know the quote "What's your damage, Heather?" is from Gilmore Girls?)

Anyways, I absolutely adore Mean Girls. I quote it so much, it's scary. I didn't really want to see it when I went. But it was with my best friend so I saw it. I ended up liking it more then her. It's seriously one of my favorites. Cult status though? I don't know about that.

Um, I thought that in between working on GROUNDHOG DAY, Sondheim was busy doctoring BOUNCE!.

BUT, I certainly would have no problem with him working on this...

It would probably acutally give him a show with a chance of breaking 1000 performances...

#24re: Mean Girls

What in God's name would Stonehenge, I mean Sondheim, know about teenage girls?

Give him people in trees! Malcontent homosexuals! Smelly Old Ladies! Anything boring and he rocks it or used to, before his talent tried up way back in 1986!

.......But something fun, alive, fresh? Forget it!
