What is your perfect day?
Oooh...well, any day I get to talk to tazber is always good...um, probably a days that I re-discover a favorite show.
Favorite theatrical experience?
Hmm...this one is tough. While seeing the OBC of "Wicked" (it was my first Broadway show, sue me) was fun, I think it has to go to this:
I sat next to Jerry Herman at the "La Cage aux Folles" revival...and bought my tickets at TKTS that afternoon.
Chocolate or Vanilla?
Chocolate, especially the organic kind that benefits Endangered Species
Coke or Pepsi?
I usually get Coke b/c both Pepsi and Dr. Pepper (my preferred) have too much sugar and make me shake.
Cats or Dogs?
While I prefer the non-neediness of cats, I'm allergic...but tazber has a cat, so I have to live with them...anyways...but I like small dogs.
Favorite scene in The Wizard of Oz?
Either:
a) Tornado
b) Anything with The Wicked Witch of the West
c) The return to Kansas
Favorite OZ CD?
Well, naturally the 1939 OMPS is my favorite (The 2-Disc is phenomenally awesome), I do really enjoy the OLC (on Jay Records), and the 1998 National Tour.
from muscle:
5 shows you love/5 you hate?
I don't really hate any shows, well, "Joseph" aside...and I can't make an even 5, so I'll change the question (sorry) to 10 shows I really like
"A Chorus Line," "The Wiz," "Rocky Horror Show," "Carrie," "Company," "Into the Woods," "Zanna, Don't!," "Carousel," "Dreamgirls," and "Cabaret"
What Broadway actress would you impersonate if you had a drag show?
Liza. or Carol. I actually had a small drag show, and I would do a celeb "Vagina Monologues" (Ripped off slightly from Mario Cantone) that included Judy Garland, Liza, Sally Field, Carol Channing (It does "Hello, Dolly!"), Julia Child and Gollum
What actor would you want to date?
Assuming I was single, either Gavin Creel, Curtis Holbrook, or Terrance Mann
from shamless
What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?
My audio-vibratory-physio-molecular...wait...no, that's not it.
Um, i dunno.
What's something that we would be surprised to learn about you?
I can lick my elbow
If your house were on fire, what material possessions would you grab on the way out?
Two things. My teddy bear, Honey Bear. I would rather die than loose that one. The other, my MacBook.
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
Um...I'm punctual, decent, amusing and very much like Lorelai Gilmore. Fairly accurate I think.
What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
I have ALWAYS wanted to fly onstage.
What’s the last great gift that you gave someone? And, that you were given?
I transferred schools and moved back home, so Mom was thrilled.
I got the Flying Monkey and Winkie Guard Barbie set from my groovy awesome boyfriend.
from tazber:
Which character from a play (straight or musical) do you most identify with? Why?
It used to be Bobby in "Company" but since I have a boyfriend, that kinda ends that identification. Probably a mix of Buzz in "Love! Valour! Compassion!" minus the AIDs and love handles; and the Witch in "Into the Woods" because I have good foresight, I just can't stop things from happening.

"Close Every Door to Me" - Joseph

Well, "Chorus Line" is my favorite show, and I rarely skip anything in it...but one of my favorites is "The Wiz" and I usually skip "What Would I Do If I Could Feel"

Tazber (that was obvious), .kyle and ahmelie.
well let's see,
Ok, I'm only letting you hang one wizard of oz poster in the house. Do you go for the original one that's worth all that $$, or the more colorful one that goes with the color scheme?
What food would it be hardest to give if you were to join me in being a vegetarian?

Why do you continue to critique THE WIZ production at the La Jolla Playhouse when you have never seen it?

It would depend...which original are we talking about?

Chicken.

I wondered when a loaded question like this would show up.
I don't ever make a judgement until I feel comfortable in my opinion. That said, if you notice, it's in my top 10 shows. These are shows I research, that I am incredibly fascinated with, and therefore try to learn as much as possible about them.
Originally, I was really interested in the LaJolla "The Wiz," however, a friend sent me a copy of the revised script and score. While I did not wittnes the physical production, (I did hear "Home" live thanks to a friend and a cell phone) I do know what changes WERE made. In this case, I take the same position on this I do the "Company" revisions. Have I seen either on their feet? No. However, you can compare both scripts, and get a strong grasp of it. What doesn't work on paper will rarely work on it's feet. There are many people who dislike the "Company" revisions, and a good number I'd wager, have not seen it.
In any case, I am also willing to admit that if I do see it (probably won't), and I do enjoy it, I will be the FIRST to admit to it. But knowing the history and original intent of the show, comparing scripts, and discussing with people involved and who did see the physical production, I feel safe enough in my opinion to think it's a piece of ****.

The distance. It would be helpful to see him on a daily basis...however, in time it'll happen, and that makes it worth it...well, that and his awesomeness.
Congratulations, husk...albeit it a little late! I always enjoy reading your posts.

What's the strangest dream you've ever had?
I've had several....wait, many.
The only one I can think of right now is this one:
Back in High School I had this dream that me and some of my friends were the Scooby Doo gang, and somehow, while investigating a mystery on a pier, we ended up transported into the bodies of the Avenue Q puppets, and forced into doing a rousing rendition of "Everyone's a Little Bit Purple"
What do you consider the biggest Tony rob?
Time to go home, husky.
Congrats theaterdue87!
Oh, btw, I'm not going to be here on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. So, either someone else is going to have to start a new thread and take over changing the title and updating the list. Or, we can take a break until I get back on Monday. I'll let you all decide.

I dunno if this is allowed, but it got asked after I went to work:
What do you consider the biggest Tony rob?
Of recent years? Patti losing to LaChanze.

But in case he actually checks this out,
Congrats E!
