Cate Blanchett I Feel Deserved The Oscar For Elizabeth. Not Gweneth Paltrow in my opinion did not deserve it as much even though she did well.

Most Recently: How do you all feel about Meryl streep winning Best Actress... I know my opinion, but i would love to hear yours.

I would have loved to see Rooney Mara pull through last year, but of course she's such a newbie.

The most painful moment that year was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows losing to The Iron Lady in the Makeup category. Really?

Jessica Lange for Francis, still one of the most underrated movies in Oscar history. The film was near perfect.

Angela Bassett's performance in What's Love Got to Do With It should have beaten Holly Hunter's performance in The Piano.

Despite the thread I started regarding her performance in Doubt, I adore Meryl Streep. However, I was rooting for Viola Davis last year in Best Actress. I wanted to walk out of The Iron Lady. Not only was the film a mess, but Meryl's performance was just...no. But I am pleased in a way that she won so I don't have to hear anyone bellyaching about how she hasn't won since the 80s. Similar to the way I was elated when Kate Winslet won, if for no better reason than I no longer had to hear about how criminal it was for her to be Oscar-less.

Oh, and there will never be any more egregious example of this than Whoopi Goldberg not winning for THE COLOR PURPLE.

I agree Jordan, Whoopi Goldberg should have won. And I think that Oprah Winfrey Should have won. The whole movie was robbed lol.

I absolutely love Meryl Streep she is my inspiration. But I agree east side story, I was rooting for Viola Davis. She is such a great actres. I will say that from what I've seen & maybe i'm wrong, but 'The Iron Lady' was probably the worst performance of Meryl Streep's career.

I also think Glenn Close for Fatal Attraction!

Gabourey Sidibe should have won for Precious. What an explosive debut.

I also think Madeline Kahn should have won for Blazing Saddles, but I know the nomination for a comedy performance that broad is a strong endorsement of a wonderful performance.

Pan's Labyrinth should have won Original Score. Score that year was pretty insulting since Gustavo Santaolla (Babel) won for 10 minutes of guitar picking in an 2+ hour film. Every other nominee wrote full scores that helped define the character of the films they were featured in.

Someday I'll get over The English Patient winning Best Picture over Fargo. At least, I hope so, but it's been 15 years, so maybe not. It's also compounded by Cuba Gooding winning over William Macy.

And while I understand completely how and why "Titanic" won, I've always felt "L.A. Confidential" to be a far superior film.

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

Gwyneth Paltrow's win is the definitive fiasco.

Is there any member of the Academy who could actually look you in the face and tell you that Paltrow's performance was better than Blanchett's Elizabeth.

I highly doubt it.

I actually like Gwyneth Paltrow in Shakespeare in Love. It's a very sweet performance perfectly suited to the material.

But winning in that year? Cate Blanchett was phenomenal in Elizabeth. I also really like Fenanda Montenegro in Central Station. Paltrow's material was so slight compared to the other nominees who had to do so much more to be viewed as successful.

A few more:

Any of the nominees over Helen Hunt, but most particularly Judi Dench should have won for "Her Majesty Mrs. Brown." Exquisite performance.

Lauren Bacall should have won over Juliette Binoche.

And also in the "Hollywood Icons Egregiously Overlooked" category: Debbie Reynolds should have been nominated for "Mother." Arguably her finest, most subtle performance.

Ingrid Bergman was right when she said (in her acceptance speech) that Valentina Cortese deserved it more.
