#1RHoNY premiere- so Alex is a model now?
Posted: 4/8/11 at 1:22amOk so I had to tune in tonight. So Alex is now a model? Really? Not only do I not think she is all that pretty- but I also don't believe she is all that photogenic. Simon left the hotel to start a social network- really? The new girl is interesting and her twins are absolutely adorable! LuAnn's new boyfriend is very funny- and so is his nose- yeah, I went there! Did anyone else feel bad for those poor girls who interviewed with Ramona? Such a setup for the show though. I like that Bethenny isn't on the show as I was getting really tired of her. Jill, Ramona, and Sonja are still pretty much the same. did anyone catch Watch What Happens Live after the show and catch Jill in her Madonna homage? She did look pretty though.

I gotta say, I love to hate these women. I actually like Alex, I am not sure how I feel about her modeling career, but hey, "an offer comes, you take!".
Jill is as bitchy as usual and Kelly needs to be euthanized. Ramona was mean, that wasn't appropriate. She crossed the line this time.

Do I think Alex would be modeling if not for her pseudo-fame due to the Housewives franchise? No. BUT, in all due fairness, models don't have to be and often aren't conventionally pretty.
I can't believe I used to like Jill. Though I do think the earlier seasons showed a very different side of her. Ramona cracks me the hell up. The job interview segments were hilarious. She was so inappropriate but at least you can tell she truly means well. She's not intending to be offensive.
Honestly, LuAnn's boyfriend seems pretty adorable.
I don't miss Bethenny, but that's probably just because her show is on repeat 24/7.

I LOVE the new season. NOW this is reality TV. When you compare these women with the duds on DC and Miami, you really see ladies who know to play for the camera (and yes, they are playing for the camera.)
I have to say that Ramona while mean, is truthful. She says the truth, she just is always so inarticulate and blunt her messages get lost.
Actually, the person who is annoying me the most is Alex. Her "assertiveness" has turned into complete ugliness and lack of decorum. She has this odd habit of being a total bitch at public gatherings in front of other people. Its really disgusting.
In true Alex and SImon fashion, I think this is move on Alex's part to be more watchable and talked about on the show. Everything those two do is guided by their desire for attention. Simon has gotten heavy and his working at home is a bad idea.
I love how Kelly said, "being a model means you are photogenic, it doesn't mean you are pretty." Of course we all know Kelly is a PRETTY MODEL.
Jill is clearly trying to be very zen about the whole thing and just smiling and letting it go whenever she gets attacked in public. She needs some damage control from last season when she crucified America's sweetheart Bethenny.
LuAnn seems to have calmed down with a man in her life and Sonja is poised to be the breakout star now that Bethenny is gone as she is the most colorful. Her FB is HOT!!!!
Oh and the new housewife (um, err, single mom enterpeneur more like it) seems pretty cool. It will be interesting to see how she plays out.

I'm not saying that she wasn't mean, or that I didn't feel terrible for those girls, especially the one who was on her first interview. I felt sorry for them, certainly, but was absolutely laughing AT Ramona. "That's a beautiful name. It sounds like a country"/"It is"? Come on, that's laugh-at-dumbass-ness hysterical. The things she said may have been mean, but they were also constructive -- the problem was that it was absolutely not the forum for her to be saying them in. That's not what you do when you're interviewing somebody. I also really think she was trying to be helpful, but it was just inarticulate and misguided and very Ramona. She's a hot mess, but I think she is one of the few of them that generally means well.
One of my favorite moments was the voiceover of Jill saying nobody has anything to worry about as far as Kelly's stability paired with the shot of Kelly behaving like a five-year-old.

Never was a fan of any of the Housewife franchises until this year. Thank you to BRAVO for consistently repeating each and every episode. I am completely caught up with all the back-stabbing and petty bullsh!t that makes these train wrecks entertaining.
With that said the NYC wives, in my opinion are the ones to beat with Atlanta and Orange County coming in second and third respectively. New Jersey is a distant fourth, D.C. and Miami don't even rate.
Alex' new assertiveness is complete and utter b.s. Jill is very aware that she has to do some major damage control after last season's transgressions so she is clearly taking "the high road" and it was very funny to see Alex' attempts to continually push her buttons and get a rise out of her fall flat. She wasn't getting the expected reaction from Jill and you could clearly see on Alex' face that it was getting to her. I loved every second of it.
I'm all for someone finding "their voice" and being assertive, but Alex is coming off as antagonistic, bitter and overtly aggressive which make her hard facial features even more manish than normal.
Which brings me too...her modeling. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! Thank you, I had too get that out! Whew!
The RamonaCoaster pulls in this season quite true to form. She's still quite the little sh!t stirrer. Right off the bat she purposely doesn't tell Jill that Alex will be attending the wedding all for the enjoyment of sitting back and seeing fireworks fly. She's rude and lacks tact and professionalism during job interviews that I am surprised that she even has a staff to begin with. She also has the ability to consistently put her well heeled pumps in her mouth ~ she always gets caught when she's talking smack and this season was no different when she is gossiping to the other girls about new cast member Cindy's brother and is overheard by Cindy herself, who leaves disgusted at Ramona and the others.
Jury is still out on new cast member Cindy. Maybe she will be the one to give the show it's edge. I will have to wait and see...but she strikes me as one for a very low tolerance of bullsh!t.
Kelly is still in KellyLand. Hoping that this season she makes a bigger fool of herself than she did last season (if that is at all possible). Fingers crossed!!
Sonja ~ She's interesting and she doesn't mince words. I think she's another one that is no-nonsense and will stop you dead-in-your-tracks if you try to even fvck with her. Sidebar: Her BoyToy is H-A-W-T.
LuAnn ~ Oh Ye, Countess of UnsurmountableBullSH*T. She's so full of herself I'm consistently surprised that any of the other housewives fit in any room or venue with her in it. She bores me to tears and aggravates me to no end. Money can't buy you singing lessons or humility, but LuAnn has taught me that fvcking money can get you an overblown, pretentious, pompous title that means squat in the country you currently reside in.
Ah, here's to another drama-filled season of THE REALHOUSEWIVES OF NEW YORK. Welcome back, ladies! :)

I tuned in tonight to see what this is all about. Tell me, are any of these women likeable? It's hard to tell from one episode.
p.s. Alex's husband said she was "incredibly beautiful" Does he know what incredibly means? I found her to be severe and mean looking.

"I found her to be severe and mean looking."
Alex is very pretty (not convetionally good looking) when she smiles. However, most of the time she grimaces and makes constipated faces full of consternation. Her current "assertive" outlook makes her look ugly most of the time.

lol, yes! I thought the same thing - isn't she like, making snow-angels in the sand?
Have you seen Alex's modeling pictures online? She look so uncomfortable! I love that Kelly said that to be a good model, you need to be photogenic, not necessarily pretty - well, look in a mirror, Kelly! Alex's assertiveness comes off in all the wrong ways - she's just stirring up old stuff and she it makes her seem like a crabby old hag.
Jill totally had a facelift, and I really don't like Luann's boyfriend. He seems pretentious, although I guess that makes them a good pair...
Sonja seems a little too desperate for men's attention. It rubs me the wrong way. And I really don't like the bows in her hair. What is she, 5?
Ramona is a pip, although I think she definitely took it too far with those interviews. I'd love to see her reaction if she found out her daughter's interviewer had commented on her bad skin...
And for the record, I still don't like guest wearing white at a wedding.

Posted: 4/11/11 at 3:43amI find Kelly ugly, I think her body is bony and not that proportionate. The same about her face, but I think the fact I know how stupid she is, makes her seem even uglier. She's gross in every possible way.

Posted: 4/11/11 at 1:30pmI kinda can't stand Sonja much, especially when she said that the new housewife is very "downtown"!? WTF. Just because she does shots at a bar she is "downtown"!? Please. I know several people who live uptown and have that kind of personality.

There's a fine line between being a sexual free spirit and a slut and I think Sonja's straddling it....so to speak.

Kelly saying "I doubt that Alex and Simon are interested in buying art, but they will show up at the opening of an envelope", like she is any different? She didn't buy any art.
Also, how inappropriate is Cindy to bring her babies to an art opening? She just wanted to show them off, not everyone is meant to be a parent...obviously.

Posted: 4/11/11 at 5:49pm^ I'm so used to seeing that, living in NYC. it is now common to see babies and pets almost anywhere you go these days. Newborns are brought to the theater frequently!

I went everywhere with my parents when I was a baby and growing up, and I think it's fine if it's done with the right intentions. Wanting to be with your baby is one thing - having your nanny holding two babies as props at an art event that was probably really late at night and past their bedtime is another.
I have to applaud her for being a single mom by choice, though. And Jill asking about her situation upfront was a little aggressive, IMO.

I LOVED the Ramona job interviews. Those were a hoot. No one's ever been read like they were competing in a house ball at a job interview before? Cause I have. I'm still haunted by "BROWN SHOES." "What?" "You should be wearing brown shoes with that suit." "I'm...sorry?" It feels like crap, they you laugh about it and learn to do better. The only one she was rude with was the girl she said something like, "You need product. I make product. Have some."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Alex model in the distant past? I know LuAnne did, but I thought Alex said she did runway stuff as well. Runway. Not commercial. I think she's gorgeous but she doesn't have a face for photography. That's not a bad thing, either. This is the new "I'm going to be a singer" storyline for NY.

Posted: 4/12/11 at 1:39pmAlex posed nude for one of Simon's friends. I don't think that counts as modeling. It made Ramona get off the couch and leave during the reunion.
