From the way I saw it Jeanine Tesori was praising Audra for her comment about Ben Carson. She's leaving comments about what Patti so well wrote to her husband.

I think many people have echoed your sentiments on the subject, and have posted that.

My personal take is that there was some content referenced in there that did cross the line, and it was overdue for us to make it easier to report abuse as a simpler process (and I'm mostly pleased with how we're seeing it used so far).

And she also referenced a lot in there that while I don't think necessarily crossed a line, does maybe bring up some ways that we can better clarify inaccuracies when they're posted. And a lot of it, is of course opinions that are just that.

I think the dialogue about it, and how it's perceived isn't a bad one to have as it's a reminder that discussions center around real people, which is a relevant topics for all forms of social type media in 2016.

My goal isn't to foster censorship and the positive of the boards, I think waaaaaay outweighs the negatives, or perceived negatives of the boards.

There's some postings that I think are worth thinking twice before hitting 'post' on, but that's always been the case... and a wide range of opinions on what's happening on stage should include rain along with the rainbows.

It's nice to know the powers that be at BWW will go out of their way to protect the fragile ego of an actress but turn a blind eye to repeated blatant racism.

Not the kind of place I want to spend my time. It was fun while it lasted.

Because I agree with you, I would support you telling people who make a point out of first telling the world they do not read the message board slash "hell" and then go looking for negative things to quote in order to urge the removal of the message boards that they are

You're welcome, Phyl. Looking back, I wasn't clear from my post, so thanks for bringing it up. As for Patti, I think of her the same way you did many of the actors during the Hunter Foster Give Back the Tonys debacle. Step away from the computer. Stay away from message boards. That said, I am in favor of eliminating personal attacks and name-calling. I've seen too much over the top and really nasty behavior on this board and I never will understand it

I have a question for those who are complaining about certain posters and bigoted posts: did you ever report those posts? I mean actually report them, rather than just complaining about them in the thread? There is no way Rob or anyone else here at BWW can go through each and every post - they need our assistance to pinpoint those posts and posters.

Now that they've made it super easy to do so, report the bigots, and those who resort to personal attacks or name-calling. No result? Report it again. Copy and paste the offending quote and make it very clear what rule is being broken and why it should be deleted. I think that, going forward, we will have less of these troll posters, because more people will be reporting them.

For those flouncing and threatening to boycott: as others have said, these rules are not at all new, they've just been loosely enforced. Looks like they intend to be a little stricter about that, and that's fine by me. No one is taking away your ability to give a bad review. It would appear that they are just asking for a little more civility in general.

I don't see that as a bad thing.
