Maybe we should ask them if they have ever disliked anything and made it known. Because according to them we aren't allowed here, so they shouldn't do it at all.

I myself would REALLY APPRECIATE a thread in which every person who has appeared for however short a period on the Broadway (because "Broadway Star" seems to be WAY overstating it) and who has put their minor wattage behind the "tear down these message boards" sentiment is put in a list so that I can factor that in to the many ways I do the math to find out if I want to spend my hard earned cash on commercial theater. Steven Pasquale is no great loss, but I WILL choose something other than what he's in.

So, can we create that list? BECAUSE IF THEY WANT AN ADVERSARIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PAYING CUSTOMERS, THEY GOT IT! And they can thank their friend Patti Murin! (Andrew Rannells, I've already always avoided you like a trick with lice, but you've been in two shows I love. Fortunately for my discretionary spending, I saw both shows before you were in them. I will NOT spend money on shows you're in from here on out.)

I can't believe theatre professionals are actually advocating for the shutdown of a message board because they don't like some of the content.

A better Broadway community would be a more affordable one.

A better Broadway community wouldn't make the toned bodies of Broadway Bares the ideal for all performers.

A better Broadway community would better support up and coming American writers and composers.

The only other board I belong to is the New York Yankee board (big surprise - lol) which is part of the MLB board. You should see the criticism the players, manager and ownership get on that board when the team is not doing well. There has never been one word about players being upset about being "bashed" on this board. It could be none of them bother to read it but just thought I would put that information out there. You can report things to get post removed or poster banned but it has to be something pretty vulgar or considered a personal attack on another poster. I believed it takes a bunch of "reports" to the mods to have action taken.

I wonder if you see the hypocrisy of this statement. I see so many posters (in this thread and others) who aren't wearing big person pants, but instead acting like whiny children in wet diapers over a policy that hasn't changed but rather is being re-emphasized as a reminder.

I know this is the "drama of the day" and will pass. But until it does - it just serves as proof points on why the policy exists in the first place. Maybe some people should take a few deep breaths - walk away from their computer and come back when they've gotten it out of their system.

Are they planning to enforce all the rules, like no shilling and using copyrighted photos as avatars, or just the ones that require nuance and subjectivity?

So, when one calls for the complete eradication of a message board because someone said something mean about you/your show, that doesn't make one a whiny child in a wet nappy? This whole affair has been a lesson in double standards, so I guess it would be foolish to ask for fairness now.
