Let us remember that there is no war on cops. If I were one now I would quit. They will get more and more reactive instead of proactive and crime will rise. You will see more and more of these and cops shooting others as things get tenser.
A traffic stop that led to a murder suspect being put down. An attorney friend forwarded the link to me. She keeps reminding me that the deceased was a "suspect" only. I have no idea which side of the nation's color line the victim claimed since that seems to be the most important consideration in accounts of police shootings these days. I'm hardly anti-police btw. Fire arms have greatly simplified the business of killing another being.
He yelled ‘Get out of my country,’ witnesses say, and then shot 2 men from India, killing one
A 51-year-old man faces first-degree murder charges after shooting three men in an Olathe, Kan., bar Wednesday night, police say, reportedly telling two of them, local Garmin engineers from India, to “get out of my country.”
It did a number on me southflorida. At work, I closely collaborate with a H-1B visa holder originally from India. He forwarded the link to me and opened up about his fears for the safety of his family outside the major cities in the wake of Trump's rise to infamy. He's an absolutely brilliant software engineer. I don't like trying to explain away this type of bigotry.
This type of bigotry existed long before Trump, Obama or Bush. You'll find plenty of similar hate crimes occurring in the 80s and 90s. To deny that is beyond willful ignorance; it's downright shameful.
Nobody is denying the existence of previous bigotry. We're discussing the current specific fears with respect to the actions of this administration and its supporters. Willful ignorance is trying to deflect the correlation by attempting to delegitimize a current story with irrelevant data and then shaming others for not including all data of the past with every story of the present. THAT is not only shameful, but a ridiculously STUPID response. How far back do we have to go in American history when discussing every act of bigotry that is occurring presently? What will suffice to not be considered shameful to YOU? And who exactly implied that "this type of bigotry" did not previously exist?
"What can you expect from a bunch of seitan worshippers?" - Reginald Tresilian
This topic, unfortunately, has just become the impossible dream for a generation at least, so sad. Did we just make it easier for the mentally ill to buy guns or was that the fake media?
This massacre, another, what's it like for kids who are growing up and seeing this as the norm? I'm disgusted and I can't sleep. This is the world my grandchildren are growing up in and I'm frightened for them.
