Now a shooting at a court house in Michigan, with definite fatalities....we are super F@c]ed...this will never stop. Welcome to the Thunderdome Max...pop in another cop killer video game too...
Guns are my biggest issue and sometimes I let it taint every occasion for me. After a week with post Orlando incidents. I come back to that and wonder. I can't deal with the gun people any more.
Is there still no war on police? When hundreds of people march around shouting " What do we want? Dead police. When do we want it? Now", eventually you will find someone who will give you just what you are asking for.

It seems like just another form of terrorism."
To be fair, you're referring to one isolated incidence in NYC that occurred two years ago. People are idiots and angry mobs can get out of control real fast if the idiots take control.

Sounds like you went to the Roxy school of critical thinking. Take an action/narrative/etc from the far reaches of the bell curve and declare it the norm. Then talk about "people" and "everyone" based on that "norm." Good work.
Don't believe everything you read or here in the news, PJ. This was an ambush done by a radical black man from Kansas City.
There are are many more out there, like the men who perpetuated killings in Dallas and Baton Rouge. This isn't over. My thoughts are with all police officers at such a very difficult time. I don't blame those cops who have decided to return their badges and quit their jobs; $45k salary is not worth the risk.
According to several reports, Gavin Long was also was an ex-Marine who proudly served his country, doing a tour of duty in Iraq. NBC News is reporting that he was the owner of the web site convoswithcosmo where he promoted a rather off-putting brand of misogyny known as ALPHA PRENEURISM. If memory serves, the shooter in Dallas, Micah Xavier Johnson, was an Afghan War veteran. There are too few data points to start connecting dots but I can't help but wonder what effect time spent in the theater of war has on some veterans who opt to leave the highly structured military service for an arguably less egalitarian civilian life. There have been claims that the US military and a certain intelligence agency have at times trained radicals in the Middle East and Central America. I shudder at the thought that an arm of the government could potentially be training a league of domestic assassins.
Sure. Perhaps unintentionally or indirectly. That's more than possible.
But you cannot absolve the individual of their own, personal responsibilities and the free will of human beings. These men are delusional and twisted... but they are coherent and intelligent in the way they communicate. They made a decision and no war or training can be solely credited (or blamed) for such course of action.
Re your remark about me, who is doing the shooting in Chicago that is decimating the African American community/ Hint it ain't the cops . Those police who committed a crime should be punished as should the majority who are doing the killings in Chicago.. It is like a warzone there and now cops are reacting to a crime instead of being proactive. You will not mention this as it does not fit your narrative.
I hardly aim to absolve them, Headband. In fact, if either had been captured instead of killed, I'd be calling for the death penalty. But, many men in the US today are troubled in a way that I can never quite put my finger on. SouthFlorida has alluded to it as well in a few of his posts. I'm trying to avoid stereotypes, but notwithstanding abortion practitioners, infanticide tends to be the province of women. In contrast, most mass murderers and police-killers in the US are male to a fault. WaPo recently provided its findings on the phenomenon of domestic mass shootings at 50 years of U.S. mass shootings.
What I'm struggling to find though is a detailed examination into the backgrounds of those who've taken the lives of members of law enforcement while on duty. Nevertheless, there's a very dignified site that remembers the often unsung heroes at the Officer Down Memorial Page.
There are no easy answers here, at least from my vantage point.

I can't speak to the specifics of the whole of Chicago violence because I don't know the totality of the statistics. I suspect that the causes are many and varied. I completely agree that police who commit crimes should be punished as should those who kill police officers as in Dallas and Baton Rouge. And I believe that those committing homicide should be punished. I think the whole dialogue goes well beyond what is happening in Chicago. There are a whole laundry list of problems in Chicago and elsewhere. If it were simple, it's be easy to solve. But it's not. I suspect the easy availability of guns is at the head of the list - but the list is very, very long.
I think we can both agree that it is concerning and sad.

"Please, it is not isolated. I witness myself more than one time. and here is a video right here in time square last weekhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqQXmnMr_w8 there are many more on youtube from all over country
Looking at the line-up of speakers, the next few days, should be entertaining. If any of you missed the Lesley Stahl interview with Trump and Pence from 60 minutes, check it out, it's a hoot.
I saw and heard them myself Mr Joey. I guess the NY TIMES is sliming these choir boys chanting dead cops too right?
Police officers including David O. Brown, the Dallas chief, say they are being threatened on social media, and other officers complain that protesters sometimes chant for them to be killed. “We’re all on edge,” Chief Brown said last week, “and we’re being very careful.”
