Addy I hope you get in tough with your mom soon...I know she is okay. My neighbor's tree just toppled over into their swimming pool.

This 'cane is no friggin' joke. Power keeps on going off and on...scary!

Myer's dark rum and coke is getting me through this...although I wish I was with my boyfriend right now.

It's a test of patience and resolve.
I am sure she is fine, also... but not being able to reach her is wrenching.

Now they're saying subways are flooding.

I can't imagine what this will all look like when the rain stops.

I work in the Wall Street area (Broadway between Exchange Place and Morris St.). I'm sure I will not be able to return to work for the rest of the week due to subway flooding in that area.

Storm surge in Lower Manhattan is up to 13 feet. Let's pray it goes no higher. There are reports of massive salt-water flooding in the subways, which could mean no transit for ______ ?

I work downtown, also. (Across from Ground Zero - on Broadway/Fulton).
I have no idea how long it will take to get things cleaned up there.

OMG! That doesn't look real.

That's where I work - I look directly into it. That picture is heartbreaking. I hope it doesn't set the construction back too far.

I agree, Jordan. It's very bizarre.

I'm grateful that I don't live in a flood zone, but I work in one. And all of NYC will continue to be shut-down as a result of this...

We're getting a whole helluva lot of wind here but no rain...I guess that's a good thing...but the water surges are doing the coastal areas in! This 'cane is on par with Katrina when she ravaged Miami in '05...

Perfectly understandable NYadgal, like I said I live in Florida so I know what its like to sit in the dark and just hear the wind howling wondering how bad it is outside and how family and friends are.

My niece just told me that the Philadelphia news is showing pictures of an absolutely ruined Jersey Shore.

My hometown newspaper is posting photos of unprecedented flooding and ruin along the Connecticut coast.

Difficult days ahead.
