aw, he's cool.
Yay for him waving back.

I finally convinced my mom to watch Rent tonight and the first thing she says to me after it ends was, "That's the end? That was stupid, we don't know what happens to anyone!"
That's too bad. As we know, not everyone is going to love it.
Does that mean she didn't like it, though, or that she liked it so much she wanted to know what happened after in their lives?

I'd like to say...it's about dang time I got to wash clothes without paying for it.
If anyone's seen my medicine, I'm looking for it *digs through another bag*
::is back from the tour::
I. Love. Rent.
Back to the conversation...
aww. hi!
Amber, your medicine is probably in that obvious spot where you think you've already looked.
Tell us about the tour cast, Rogue.
Hello!!
It was just so...amazing. The tour members are very talented people.
First, we were allowed drinks in the theater. I was excited already. I petted my $3-imported from Maine-Poland Springs-water.
The audience was very energetic. I have to say, we rocked. Everyone I saw (Balcony, orchestra), gave a standing ovation. I assume ALOT of other people did (perhaps most of the theater), from the brightly beaming faces of all the cast members. I was so happy for them, odd, I know. And we cheered at all of the appropriate times -- it was never...that I can remember, during a song. Well, there was Ano's (Angel) appearance in the Santa outfit. And the mooing. It was a very receptive audience.
I have to say, the band rocks. We gave them huge cheers right before Act 2 when they came back on stage. As we started to cheering, the guitarist made the "more" gesture with his hands and the theater went nuts.
Bryce Ryness (Roger): I wasn't sure what kind of Roger to expect. He was...not overly angry and I think played Roger fairly well. (When he first walked out, my friends mother said: "Well, that's a look." I replied: "The plaid pants really make the outfit." One thing that stuck with me was the way he sang "From the soul of a young man/a young man." He sounded very...frightened and vuneralble. And then, well, he scared me twice. The first time I actually jumped out of my seat. Right before One Song Glory, in fustration he "strums" (aka plays very forcefully) his guitar. I wasn't expecting that. And in Goodbye Love he slams on the table.
Jed Resnick (Mark):
Terrific. Vocally. Acting-wise. He can really get low to the ground without falling. Quite a talent. His dancing was very...Mark-like, but very original. I loved it. And he can really tango. Both he and Chante (Joanne) can. So, Tango: Maureen was amazing. I'm playing some back in my mind now. Ahh, very exciting.
Warren G. Nolan, Jr (Collins): I loved him as well. I thought that he fit the character very well. He and Ano (Angel) worked very well together. Great voice also.
Michael Ifill (Benny): I thought he did an excellent job. He really showed how Benny was sincere (I guess that would be the right word). Again, great voice.
Chante Carmel Frierson (Joanne): Man, can this girl sing! One hell of a voice and acted terrifically. And, of course, can really tango.
Ano Okera (Angel): He had quite a bit of energy and can really act. You could definetly see all of what Angel was going through during Without You. It was heartbreaking.
Arianda Fernandez (Mimi): She reminds me alot of Daphne. My friend didn't really like her voice, but if I let her listen to Daphne, she'd say the same thing. Since I don't have a problem with Daphne's voice, I enjoyed her. She can reaaaalllly move (And can get emotional, especially in Goodbye Love). She and Bryce played well off of each other. (Another Day was a little violent, a little bit of pushing, but Arianda played her strong at that point, like Mimi truely believed in what she was saying and wouldn't back down.) Also, I was very pleased on how...non-corny her revival was. It was more real than I expected.
Tracy McDowell (Maureen): Another who can really sing! What I loved, in particular, was how she performed Over the Moon seriously, but was really hilarious doing it. I don't really laugh at Over the Moon, but Tracy made it impossible. She performed her ass off! It never seemed like a big joke though, which I loved. She's really talented. She and Chante had great chemistry.
And, the rest of the cast: Amazing. I could go into detail on each if you would like, but I would have to do that tomorrow..or well, later today.
I might as well post who the wonderful rest of the cast was:
Nina Metrick: Mark's mom and others
Aswad: Christmas caroler, Mr. Jefferson, paster and others
Altamiece (Insert accent on last e) Carolyn Ballard: Mrs. Jefferson, woman with bags and others
Gavin Reign: Gordon, the man, Mr. Grey and others
Ben Roseberry: Steve, Squeegee man, waiter and others
Norman Payne: Paul and others
Sheile Coyle: Alexi Darling, Roger's mom and others.
I could mention the man who was trying to get me to go to a bar with him or something. I stood there very confused until my friends mother said that I was too young and pulled me away. I was sooooo confused. I mean, I don't look old enough to drink! They (my friend and her mother) started to laugh at me as we walked away. Then there's me: "What just happened?!"
I'm glad that you had fun! I've heard good things about the tour.
Alright, I think I'm about ready to pass out. Hopefully the antibiotics start working and I can sleep this off.
Glad you had a good time Rogue.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Rogue.
Feel better, Sarah!
*peeks in*
Hey! How is everyone?
Sneezy.
How are you?
Guess that makes me dopey
Nevermind.
Pfft. I meant that most literally. I'm sure I know people dopier than however you may think you are.
Well I can be quite dopey (banging into a glass door twice), but I too know others much worse than me.
I think these twins in my school take the cake. Let's see...
one thought Pearl Harbor was in NY..
One asked what color the gradient is(gradient is a formula like distance...)
Then same one to prove to me and my friend who were making fun of her that she wasn't dumb asked us what the 3 ships Columbus sailed on. We sighed and said the Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria. She replies, haha, no you're wrong, it was the Mayflower!
One asked my U.S. history teacher why Alaska isn't part of the continental U.S. (his answer: with a very confused look, "because it's...not"
Oh, and we had to work in groups on these constitution projects, where we made up skits to detail aspects of it. So one of the twins was in my group, and I agreed to collect them all, like have everyone e-mail them to me and stuff. So she sends me her skit about the great compromise. One of the lines was "I don't think it's fair to have representation based on population, since I'm from the small state of Long Island..."
OY.
Bahahaha. I know people like that.
I don't understand how people can be that dumb. :-/
I've said it before...it's my motto to never underestimate the stupidity in people.
Besides, they were pretty mean. Didn't like them, so at least they were fun to make fun of.
I updated my post with details.
Nice review, Rogue! I worry a little about you though - it sounds like that guy was up to no good. I'm glad your friend's mother was there.

That's what happened to me on my way out of A Streetcar Named Desire. Ew.
