I bought a pineapple today!
*giggles*
Something like "luv the av, come join us in the Tattoo thread"
Whenever I meet Columbus, I'm just going to sneeze on him then leave, while singing the cut part of Goodbye Love.
Tell us about that CS. Did the hitter want to date your pineapple?
Obviously, something wasn't working in the previews, and possibly the wrong solution was chosen. I've watched films going through this process, and one problem is if there are focus groups, the people in them tend to focus on the wrong reasons for their problems with the movie.
*complete and total threadjack* I'm sorry, but does anyone know the name of Ned's organization in TNH? I can't remember if it even has one. Thanks.
P.S. If any of you see me talking on this site about anything other than AIDS-related plays before 8:30 pm tonight, please kick me. Thank you.
Heh, that sounds kind of crytpic, Sarah. The pineapple is irresistable, though. Also my second-favorite fruit.
I got a "Your picture reminds me of Mark from Rent. It's really cute." and then I PMed her back to tell her who it was, and she was like "Oh, sorry, I thought that was you." There've also been one or two "Who is that? He's hot!" So, yay for Mano.
Elphie - Gay Men's Health Crisis was the name of Kramer's organization, but it's never named in the the play.

The title was "love the pineapple"
Then he asked if I was in Hawaii, because of my name I guess, then told me if I was interested in tattoos to join that thread.

Gay Men's Health Crisis Organization...ah, too slow.

I think it's what would BECOME The Gay Men's Health Crisis, but I don't know if it's that or ACT UP. I think it might actually be the latter. That may not be its name in the book, either because it wasn't called that originally, or because this is ficticous.
I think I brought mine home (I'd better have). I'll see if I can find it.

Interesting that you bring that up. I've been learning about various research methods in the Marketing class I'm taking this semester, and my professor spent almost an entire lecture going on and on about how unreliable focus groups tend to be. One of the main problems is often that if there's a particularly outspoken group member, other people become afraid to contradict that person even if they disagree with what he or she is saying. Another is that people have a hard time articulating what makes them like or dislike something and in many cases don't even know why they felt a certain way.
I don't think that they ever name it in the play.
I've gotten a couple of PMs about my avatar.
Interesting to know, Em. I don't think that the organization is ever referenced by name in either TNH or TDOM.
Thanks, guys.
Don't they say something about having the word 'gay' in their name?
Elphie, no, I don't see the name in the play.
For what it's worth, Raul has a link to the website for The Gay Men's Health Crisis on his website; which makes me think that is it. But I don't want to tell you to assume.

I have no idea how Mano looks like Mark from Rent. I mean, beyond the camera... but it's not even a video camera!
He'd be a cute Mark.
He'd be a cute anything.
It's okay, I just wanted to directly reference the name of the orginazation, but it is really not important at all. I'll just cut that part out. Thanks for checking.
I think she thought that it was me and I took the picture trying to look like Mark, despite the fact that it's not a videocamera? I have no idea.
Didn't he mention auditioning for Rent a ton of times and being too in-between for either Mark or Roger? Raul seems the same way, kinda.
Mandi has a Mano avatar! I love how we're slowly converting people.

I was about to say, I don't really know much about Mano, but I think he's probably like Raul, as far as in between Mark and Roger....

Mano doesn't strike me as a Roger. He'd make a good Mark, though, I think.

That's very interesting. My impression is that, as happens in many situations, the focus group members try to write a prescription rather than describing their symptoms.

I think he mentioned that in his Chatterbox; that he auditioned for Rent but that he's sort of in between being right for either Mark or Roger.
