*waves*

Detroit was lame. I spent 2 hours on the phone drinking frappucinos. Couldn't wait to get out of that hell-hole. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part eight

I'm home now. I have to share the computer with 4 other people because my baby is back in Syracuse. *misses* And now my brother has to get on to do homework. No fights with the parents yet, but my grandma tried to get on my case about something really stupid earlier.

And, most importantly, SYRACUSE WON!!! re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part eight

Oh, I know. I tend to not reuse avatars once I'm tired of it though. No worries, I think I can con my friend into fixing something up for me in the next day or so. Or maybe my parents computers will get some upgrades...

Last fall was pretty great - aside from the movie itself, there was the BWW benefit at Joe's Pub, the 24 Hour Plays, Brilliant Mistake, Symphony Space - am I leaving out anything?

I was at three out of those four. Last fall was amazing.

... and now it's nothing. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part eight Well, for another few weeks, anyway. I just hope we get some good information on the tour considering it looks like most of us can't attend the shows due to the locations and/or the events looking like they'll be student only.

I'm angry at myself for missing all of that last fall. I've told this story before, but I remember reading a post on a LJ community (not Rent-related) and finding those photos of Hayden Christensen with Adam from the 24 Hour Plays. I'm a bit of a Hayden fan, so I saved them wondering who the other cute guy in the photos was. Heh.

I was here last fall and still managed to miss most of those events! Maybe Adam will do the 24 Hour Plays next fall - since he seemed to like doing it this year.

Well I wandered around NYC in '96 hearing about this show called Rent, thought about seeing it, then said "nah, I guess not." I read something about it being very loud and got concerned because I have to protect my ears. Of course when I finally saw it last year, I realized it wasn't loud at all by rock concert standards.

I haven't experienced anything. This summer we're doing it all, and if Adam and Anthony have nothing going on, we're stalking them.

Be sure to write up a full report, CS!

I'll never forget Adam at the 24 Hour Plays, in the middle of the stage sort of dancing around a teddy bear.

Not to worry Chloe, I've never left details out of anything I've written here. Now I have a few months to convince my mother that I won't be kidnapped by the "43-year-old men" who I'm chatting with on here.

What type of character did he play? That seems a bit bizarre.

As it happens, his play was written by Warren Leight, one of the main writers for Law & Order, Criminal Intent, and the female star of that show, Kathryn Erbe, was also in the play. Aaannnnddd, Warren Leight was one of the writers whose screenplays were being read at the Nantucket Film Festival where Adam met Cybele. Adam was one of the actors doing the readings (though I don't know if he did Leight's) and Cybele was some kind of coordinator for the readings.

But enough trivia, I'll answer your question. Adam played the brother of three sisters. The four of them were at their parents' home in Florida, going through childhood stuff in boxes. Hence the teddy bear.

Adam dancing around a teddy bear? I can only imagine what was going through his mind during that - "must not bite the ears," perhaps? re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part eight

LOL Sarah. I can't wait for the summer adventures.

Chloe, it really amazes me how much you remember and know. I love having a human encyclopedia on this thread! re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part eight The mental image of him dancing with a teddy bear is hilarious.

What summer adventures are you all talking about?

It was very useful in school - I hardly ever studied.

As it happens, I've been watching a lot of those L&O shows lately, which brought it all to mind. Here's the link where I found out about the Nantucket Film Festival. It's a report on the readings written by Cybele.

ETA: I should clarify that Adam wasn't doing any dancing, just sort of moving around the teddy bear.

Lexi, here's what I posted about Adam's play in my "review" of the 24 Hour Plays:

3. "In the Dark" by Warren Leight, directed by Indhu Rubasingham, starring: Ashlie Atkinson, Charlotte D'Amboise, Kathryn Erbe and Adam Pascal. Adam played a womanizing, slightly boyish, slightly immature character called Roger, heh. He was the brother of three girls, all four stuck in a house during a hurricane, going through some of their old stuff. His entrance is with a message from their father, something about securing things in the house. They spend most of the time bickering; much of the plotline was character-based -- an introduction to the various familial personalities and such, while we also learn about their eccentric parents. The power goes out for some time, and each of the four siblings deals with it in his or her own way, whether it be to go "hey, remember my ex? The recovering anorexic?" or to recite the state capitals in backwards alphabetical order. Adam had a nice monologue about the workings of family, and all you heard in the dark was his voice. The lights come back on, they're happy, and that's basically the end.
Everyone was great -- especially Atkinson, of the women, anyway. The play had little action, but the dialogue was funny, since it was mostly character development. Adam was FANTASTIC. He'll never outgrow some of his campy hand motions, but they worked. He did a nice little sailor gesture, flailed a bit when he whined at one of the sisters, "Winniiiiie!" etc. He danced with a teddy bear, and almost put on a plush bunny mask. He was being really silly up there, but his part did have some serious moments. I laughed so hard that I cried. It was wonderful to see him on a Broadway stage again, and he absolutely held his own, partly by use of his charm and partly because he's becoming a legitimate, viable actor. Sure, there are imperfections, but the leaps and bounds are amazing to see. I am so proud of you, Adam. (And happy birthday.)

Em, your write-up brought a smile to my face. I think the funniest part was that his character was named Roger.

Adam had the "recovering anorexic" line, one of the funnier ones. Of course my hopes were rather high when I looked at the program and saw Adam and three women listed. A brother and three sisters never occurred to me.
