Hahhahaha oh man. SO much has changed.
EDIT: I remember having to email Barb for a pep talk, I was so nervous.

...understatement.
i'm glad i'm not the only one who's been afraid! haha.
what if he DOES hate me? oh no...
what did you guys talk about, the first time you met him?
LOL - Liz - remember me? "Oh my god, he's going to HATE ME! What if he hates me?!?!"
YES! LMAO!
He didn't reply for a week and you were like, "he hates me already oh my gosh he's not replying I look like an idiot!!!"
Good times good times.
I talked to Greg about, wow, I don't know, things totally random, lol.
He is really good at breaking the ice, he really strikes up the conversation and always keeps everybody interested and compelled.
he won't!
uhhh. I can't remember. I ask for his picture and he said that i should send it to his website and then, hmmmm, can't remember, then he went to sign other people's stuff.
All my posts are so empty without a sig, this is a problem.
you can have mine
i get pretty random and awkward. i'm sure i'll have something ridiculous to say. once i told the girl playing rumpleteazer she had a fly on her arm and i swatted it off. she said thank you.
I HATE STAGE MANAGING
STAGE MANAGERS NEVER SLEEP.
goodnight. <3 thanks for the kind words guys. they mean a lot.
Ok, so you think Panda's posts are long, well, get ready. Sorry for the length and for the OT-ness of the post.
OK so if I didn’t love Anthony Rapp before I do now. The signing was amazing. And that’s most definitely an understatement.
My friend and I almost didn’t make it there at all though, and that’s because MapQuest sucks. The directions they gave us were to the West Syracuse Campus and we needed the South Campus, so needless to say we were driving around for an hour and a half looking for the theatre. After stopping for directions (Three times), we finally made it to the theatre, got our tickets at the box office and went in. We got there right at 7:30 when it was supposed to start and thankfully, it started late because they had made an announcement to everyone saying that if they were not in the theatre by the time Anthony came out they wouldn’t be let in.
There was a kid there had to have been in his mid teens and he looked just like a younger Anthony. It was the cutest thing ever.
First two guys from the school talked for a bit and at one point got all tongue twisted and ended up messing up the title to Anthony’s book and then called their ‘coworkers’, ‘cowlicker’. That was amusing. The cowlicker part, not the messing up the title part. Eventually they just went and threw their little script onto the ground and introduced Anthony.
When he came out everyone went crazy and he got a standing ovation. That was crazy. First, he thanked everyone for Cumming and said he was happy to be there but wanted to get away from the snow in NYC so he wasn't happy about the show in Syracuse. LoL.
For the first part, he talked a little about why he wrote the book in the first place. Then he talked about Jonathan. He took a sit of his water that was in a wine glass for some reason, and simply said, ‘parched’. That was very cute, but then he went on to imitate the fans by saying, “and I bet some of you are going “OMG he reused that joke” so I apologize. But it’s a cute joke right?”
He had mentioned that he had gone on two auditions earlier that day and that he also filmed an interview. I’m assuming the ‘filmed interview’ he was talking about was Tony Danza though he never mentioned the show by name.
After that, he read the chapter entitled Glory. I have part of that on video. I loved being able to watch him read from his book because he has the kind of voice that I was able to just get lost in and everything else that was going through my mind melted away.
It was cute though because before he read, he had talked about the fact that yesterday was the exact 10th anniversary of RENT and that the 13th was also the release date for the book (not the 7th) and he thought that was ironic. He mentioned that the books had been on sale though for a few weeks though and that he was excited because books never get released before the release date “Unless you’re Harry Potter.”
After he read, he opened the floor for questions saying that the Q&A was his favorite part of doing these sorts of things. I was disappointed though with the questions people asked. They were the same ones that everyone already knows and he gets asked dozens of times but he answered all of them.
One girl asked him if he’d be her Valentine and he said he would. Then he was just like “Top that!” as if challenging us to do so. Though no one did. I have that on video as well. Then he got asked to sing, but the girl requested he sing the opening of the show. He said that he had been doing ‘Seasons…’ a Capella for these things and before he could finish his sentence people started to yell out different songs. Eventually he agreed but apologized in advance because he hadn’t sung the opening in a ‘very long time’. He did though and it was fun because the audience got to sing the part of Roger. He went up to “The phone rings…”
One question had to do with his relationship with Andy Dick so he read that part of the book. Then he ended up reading a part about Jonathan as well, cracking a joke about how he was glad he had the book right there otherwise he couldn't have answered the questions as well.
He also mentioned that his first stage performance was in the Wizard of OZ as the Cowardly Lion *Insert many awwww’s from the audience* to which he responded, “…and I was GREAT!” I thought that was cute. He talked about Albino Kid for a second as well when asked about what he’s working on now.
The last question was asking if he’d sing SOL, but first if he’d do the Mark La Vie Boheme dance. He did. It was adorable. Then he sang all of SOL a capella. He also randomly sang out “Today for you” then went on to say that it sounded more like Hedwig singing instead of Angel.
Once he finished singing, he said that the book signing would start and he got up, took his wine glass and walked off the stage leaving us with a little wave and a smile. My friend and I got in line about ¼ the way from the start. We were told that if we wanted Anthony to personalize anything we had to have it written on a post-it note for him to copy. We both filled those out and anxiously waited. Then next thing you know there’s Anthony standing in the middle of the theatre just...watching, before making his way up the landing to where the table was set up for him.
There was this guy in front of us in line that had dressed up like Mark. I though that was cute. Then people started telling us that we had to have him sign the title page of the book and to have it ready when we got up there so he could sign and get to the next person. (They were really pressed for time)
When my friend and I got up there we went at the same time so that we could show Anthony our shirts (which he said he really liked and thought were cute by the way) and I thanked him for Cumming to Syracuse and that it meant a lot to me that he had. Then he went on to thank me for Cumming to see him because without fans like me he wouldn’t have been able to come in the first place. (How cute) He commented on the quote I had written for him to sign with, saying it was very unusual. (“How can you generate heat…”?) I just told him that it was my favorite because of the way he sang it and he thanked me for that, though it didn’t really merit thanks. My friend was so nervous didn’t get out anything at all, other than ‘hello’. LoL.
He took a picture with Jess first, then one with me. Then I asked him if we could have one with the three of us and he said sure despite the looks of ‘Hurry it up!’ he was being given by the security people. I though that was really sweet. He thanked us for Cumming and as we were walking away, he gave us a wave goodbye. *Swoon*
And thus ends my long post about seeing Anthony Rapp, whom I am officially in love with. He’s just so adorkable and animated and just an all around amazing person and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to see him.
Now for those of you who actually read all of that. Thank you.
And for the pictures.

I had NO CLUE what to say to Greg, he really gets you to talk.
traci! that is so cool. in the last picture, it looks like he is looking right at you.
do you think we could see the video too?
Yeah you can see the videos too. I'm going to upload them tomorrow. It will take a while and I'm too tired to do it now. lol.
Cumming?
Anyway -
When Greg sees that you're a little tongue-tied and aren't able to talk, he starts asking you questions. He'll ask you if you liked the show, do you live in NY and if not, where?, do you have brothers and sisters, and on and on. I'm not kidding - you'll be talking so much you'll forget to ask him anything!
Mamie, traci says "Cumming" cause she loves Alan Cummings. haha.
meghan, why do you hate stage managers? I want to be one!

haha Dre i think she said she hates stage managING, not managERS lol
Traci it sounds like you had SO much fun. i have a lot of friends that go to syracuse so i wonder if they went.
well i'm super tired and feeling kinda eh...so i'm gonna go to sleep. i already decided i'm not gonna go to my morning class tomorrow lol. i know, i know..i'm a bad person. get over it. night everyone. happy valentine's day. i love you all!!!
ah, ok. yeah, haven;t done the job yet, but yeah, i can imagine.
What isn't there to say about Greg's kindness. This man gave Kerrie, her friend Cat, my friend Kat, and myself warm hugs the night before Thanksgiving. I was so stunned by his good nature. Remember, Kerrie?
Traci- You are lucky to meet Mr. Rapp. Without You is a fantastic book. Very powerful and poignant, Anthony Rapp wrote one of the best books I have read in a while.
Isn't writing a lot fun Traci?
Let's see, hahaha, you never told me about getting lost on the way there!! I would have been dying. And you said you didn't say one word to him...liar :-P And I'm stupid, you didn't tell me about the personalizing part, so I just thought he randomly wrote how do you generate heat and it was so random to be your fav quote. And from afar, I thought maybe the shirt on the inside was the same from the Costello concert that we were gushing over, had to look at your big picture to see it wasn't. Oh well, the man is quite fashionable. And sure, tell me how much you'd blame me if he didn't like the shirts, but give me no credit when he loved them...hrmph! Oh and btw...errr...*insert question I will now constantly ask* Oh, he just personalized the book and just signed the 10 other things including my pic right?
Hahaha, my first convo w/ Greg cracks me up so much, I still say it was stupid, despite what he says...it was at the DRS giveaway signing, I got to the table right near 1, Joanna and John had just gotten up, Greg was on the end...
Greg: Hi! How are you?
Me: Umm...good...umm(tries to think of anything relevant or good to say..didn't work out), how are you?
Greg: Oh, good(great? fine? something like that). How long have you been in line for?
Me: Oh since like 11:40
Greg: Wow. Well thanks, you must really love us (understatement by now, no?)
Me: Haha yeah. *Nervous laugh*
The end. Wonderful huh?
The one on the street was soo much better, we had seen the show that afternoon so we mentioned winning lotto and he was excited for us and we mentioned and he asked us about the Stars in the Alley Concert earlier and umm...then I think 3 Australian women interrupted us to tell him they saw the show and he was great, mentioned they were going to eat somewhere, and Greg named about 5 different places for them to go to(we were all kind of giving each other looks like he's taking the time to talk to you guys about this?? How great!) And then they left, I think to a place he mentioned, and...we talked about...a bunch of us...the music for Chimp Like A Suit sounding like Sim City (he didn't realize), how great Joanna is (friend asked), how great the whole cast is, how amazing it is that Norbert hasn't busted a gut yet(Greg quote), how Damn Yankees was my first show ever(which I realized later that day, THAT'S what I should have told him at the signing), and yeah...he chatted w/ us and the women for a good 15-20 minutes. He even missed/let 2 buses go by to talk to us. Wow, haven't thought about that night in a while...good times. I remember just not being able to get over how much time he took to talk and stuff like that
Haha Kerrie, I remember you posted about how nervous you'd be to send him an e-mail, I PMed you giving you tips and tried to tell you no he's so sweet, you have nothing to worry about, etc. And Jamie had me on aim while she wrote hers, and made me check every sentence where every time I was like it's fine, don't worry, etc.
It's sweet thinking back to those earlier times
Stage managing is stressful but lots of fine, I was an honorary cast member, one of the cast members in high school (I stage managed the drama my junior year) made cast superlatives and she made one for me too, I was the only honorary cast member...my superlative was most unlikely to grow 3 inches...hrmph...unfortunately I think it came to pass. Bring production assistant is so much worse, talk about being everybody's b*tch!
Eke, didn't mean to be on so long...have a test my last class tomorrow...ehh, I'll skip my first class, don't wanna take a test on 5 hours sleep.

I want one too...who will buy me one???
Just kidding
My goal is to try to get through this week, I have about 3 tests a day and am dying...

Joe Cassidy in The Last Five Years
That's the thing Panda, we weren't really given any time to talk, though it may seam like it. The whole Thank you's between him and I were while he was signing both my things and my friends things, and once he was done we took the pictures. During our group picture together the only exchange was his mentioning he liked the shirts, and during my picture was his commenting on the quote. And I couldn't have him sign your picture Unfortunately, there was a two item limit(or so I was told many times while we were waiting in line) and I had him sign my book and a photo. As did my friend. I feel bad though, I said I'd mention you and never did.
Sorry.
Videos will be posted sometime today.
Jamie: I loved that Valentine message as well. Thank you.
Wow, I didn't know Joe did L5Y, he seems to do a lot of things Norb does.
In summation, I would kill to see Joe Cassidy in L5Y.
Well, anyone really but especially Joe.
Mornin' all!
Ok you people are just not as dedicated to leaving class and posting here as am I...
For shame!
Perhaps your professors actually show up to the classes!
Don't mind me I'm just on a Shakespeare high, nothing revs one up like studying Shakespeare at 10:30 am!
I think I'm just digging myself into a deeper hole of crazy each sentence I add!...I'm gonna stop now....and lay off the exlamation points...
And possibly the ellipsises...
Nah, I think I'll keep the ellipsises
...they're nifty!
Oops...exclamation point...
