nice liz. nice. lol.
awesome slideshow Barb!
HAHA. liz and cat-you guys crack me up!
barb-thanks for the grand illusions sight! it kept me preoccupied for the last 10 minutes, haha
Oh wow the cam highlights today are awesome! Too bad I couldn't watch today. It's so cool we get to see all the backstage stuff (I liked Joanna touching up her make-up).
So I've just discovered my love for Jack Johnson, what a great singer, his most recent CD is wonderful.

Thanks for the slideshow comments, appreciated!
Jamie ... yeah, that site's great. You can spend a lot of time there, for sure! :)
Just to add before anyone asks ... all roving cams pics that I could post without being arrested are posted. :) So ... yeah ...
sorry, but sometimes you just have to be present during the cam and live in the moment before it fleets away.
ewww .. typing the word "fleets" reminds me of when I was in the grocery store a few weeks ago and this (truly) little old lady was on the aisle that has "drugstore stuff" -- otc meds, toothpaste, etc. ... and she was trying to find the Fleet enemas, and I helped her. They were down on the bottom shelf. I was getting toothpaste myself, being the "regular" gal that I am, thank you very much.
sooooo .... somebody change the subject again ...
edit to PS: Liz just scared me to death. At first I thought she said Jack Jones ... and I was thinking, gosh, isn't she a bit young to be a fan of his?

yeah, Barb is the best! wish I could meet the oh-so powerful Barb!
woooah-dre-your avatar ALMOST made me think it was gerry butler, which ALMOST made me think that you were amanda! lol
rachel looks STUNNING as christine!
no! it is Scott Cohen, hot guy on Gilmore Girls and the Wolf in 10th Kingdom (which is the best miniseries EVER!) Scott Cohen is hott!
and can never be confused with Gerry Butler.
Max!
I KNOW HIM! He was the man who ALMOST married Lorelai!
speaking of gilmore girls--Matt Czuchry!!!!! I LOVE LOGAN HUNTSBERGER!! haha
I'd also liked to add I adored The Tenth Kingdom.
Cat, i love you.
Well kiddies, I've just returned from my first visit back to DRS since being back from winter break.
I'm not one for long posts, but I'll do my best to cover everything.
We did the lotto - which was PACKED, and it was really a miracle that I won. 2nd name called.
Okay, I just have to say first and foremost that I LOVE JONATHAN PRYCE. He was fantastic. And I was so relieved because I was scared I would just miss Lithgow too much. But Pryce was really just.. great. It was the best Shuffhausen I have EVER seen. He plays Shuffhausen very much like an escaped mental patient and it's hysterical. It's so weird to go from seeing him in nothing by serious dramas to seeing him in this. He was great. I can't emphasize that enough.
Ruprecht was out of control tonight - Pryce laughed through almost the entire thing and it was so great. He even flubbed up the words a bit, but kept right on going. It was hilarious. Him and Norbert work very well together.
I do miss Lithgow, though. Hearing Pryce's voice in the pre-show announcement was jarring. But he won me over, obviously.
Mylinda Hull is HYSTERICAL. Oh my god. She does this manic laughter thing that nearly had me rolling on the floor. I think I prefer Sarah, but Mylinda did not disappoint.
Rachel York - boy was I excited to see her go on. She was great.. yes.. I was disappointed with her Here I Am.. but hearing her sing Nothing is Too Wonderful to Be True was like an eargasm.. her voice is so.. smooth, is the only word I can think of to describe it. That song fits it perfectly. She plays Christine very goofy, which I have to admit, got on my nerves a little bit, but she has a lot of time to grow into the role, and I did enjoy the performance. And her high note in Love is My Legs was phenomenal - she even did a little riff that went higher. It was beautiful. Her chemistry with Norbert is on it's way to being very good. They're still working towards it.
Oh. I missed Andrew. A lot. I kept looking for him and he wasn't there. It was sad.
Greg was, as always, wonderful tonight. He's never disappointed me.
Went backstage afterwards (me, Kadey, and Kadey's 2 friends Tom and Amber.) Greg gave us a quick tour after talking with some of his friends he had backstage. He was sweet as always and did everything he can to make the very nervous Tom comfortable.
I can never begin to thank that man for everything he does for me, for all of us.
It was a great night and it was great to be back seeing the show!
Oh - and as a side note - it is so cold its painful. Yep. lol
Glad you loved the show Kerrie, and I'm jealous you got to see the full company! I hope that happens for me soon. I'm really excited to see Pryce, if I miss him for the 3rd straight time...
Ooh, is Andrew's replacement listed in the playbill now? I know his first name is Michael, but I don't even know his last name! He seems to be quite an ample fill-in. I'm excited for his cam debut.
The ? guy was Matt Wall, who replaced Michael Patersono(that's not spelled right...) in the ensemble, as the accordian player among other parts. T
Glad you liked Rachel and agreed with the eargasmness of "Nothing Is Too Wonderful To Be True," precisely how I described it
Barb, thanks so much for the wonderful slide show! (And Greg for going out of his way to rove the cam and such).
And that's cool, I always see and for some reason notice the man who I now know as Barry come out of the stage door. He just has a memorable look I suppose, nice to place a name with a face.
Dre I totally agree. Absolutely NO ONE could be confused with Gerry Butler. Though this new man in Dre's avatar who I'm not familiar with is quite attractive.
So, today I have church and I have to watch my brother's vball game at Yale... so I won't be on for a while.
Grrr... random picture will come later today.
Good to hear that all of the replacements are doing well so far, especially Pryce, I didn't know what to expect.
yes amanda, Scott is hott! watch 10th Kingdom and you will understand what I mean.
doodoodoo *hums*
i was at a concert last night drooling over a boy so i missed the cam
thanks for the report, kerrie! it just makes me soooo excited!
I thought this was kind of interesting and thought you might like to see it. Auditions have been held this month and last for performers for the national touring company of DRS. This is the descriptions of the actors they're looking for in each role:
SEEKING:
Lawrence: Male, any ethnicity, 40s – 50s. British, smooth, and elegant. A professional conman with easy European charm and an ability to transform himself from the role of a deposed Prince to a Viennese psychiatrist and back again. Needs an authoritative actor with a strong singing voice and great comic skill. Also seeking a standby for this role. Role originated by John Lithgow. LEAD
Freddy: Male, any ethnicity, late 20s – 30s. A frisky, charming, and frequently clueless American, though with an innate street smartness that provides a true challenge to the more accomplished and suave Lawrence. Needs a fantastic tenor singing voice and great comic skill. Role originated by Norbert Leo Butz. LEAD
Christine: Female, any ethnicity, late 20s – 30s. An exuberant, innocent, young American heiress from Ohio, now on her own for the first time on the French Riviera. Physically clumsy, with a goofy, natural charm. Attractive, with a good physique. Needs a fantastic high belt singing voice and great comic skill. Role originated by Sherie Rene Scott. LEAD
Muriel: Female, any ethnicity, 40s – 50s. A much-married, attractive, wealthy, and slightly world-weary American woman from the Midwest. Despite her disappointments in love, she possesses a yearning underneath that can turn her into a somewhat deluded romantic all too eager to believe Lawrence's cons. Needs a strong singing voice and great comic skill. Role originated by Joanna Gleason. PRINCIPAL
Andre: Male, any ethnicity, 40s. Lawrence's right hand and the town's Chief of Police. A dry and sardonic Frenchman, but with a natural sweetness underneath. Quietly happy to live in Lawrence's shadow and a bit hapless when asked to momentarily take Lawrence's place in the role of the Prince. Needs a strong singing voice and great comic skill. Role originated by Gregory Jbara. PRINCIPAL
Jolene: Female, any ethnicity, late 20s – 30s. The Oil Heiress from Oklahoma. She has a cheerful and unbeatable Country-Western, prairie spirit that can turn quietly deadly when she is crossed. Attractive and very energetic, with a good physique. Needs a strong belt singing voice, great comic skill, and dancing ability. Role originated by Sara Gettelfinger. PRINCIPAL

I also just spotted this nice interview with Joanna that appeared in City Guide (I believe it's new today!)

I love this! this is so true!
Andre: A dry and sardonic Frenchman, but with a natural sweetness underneath.......Needs a strong singing voice and great comic skill.
Thanks for posting that Mamie. What is interesting to me is the "Any Ethnicity" comment. I am glad to see the casting is open to everyone. However, could the show work with a black/Asian/latino Freddy or Lawrence? I would say yes and it sure would be exciting to see!
Brian Stokes Mitchell was the original Lawrence while the show was in conception.
Isn't Pryce hispanic?
